Right along with the Horton family Christmas celebration, fans of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” can look forward to another tradition continuing. The network has announced that the annual “Day of DAYS” event will return to Universal CityWalk, located next to Universal Studios Hollywood, on Saturday, November 11.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today the first round of presenters for “The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” taking place Sunday, May 1 from the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, CA and “The 43rd Annual Creative Arts Daytime Emmy Awards” taking place on Friday, April 29, also at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.

After portraying Griffin Castillo on “All My Children” and Tony Santos on “Guiding Light,” actor Jordi Vilasuso decided the timing was right for another turn in daytime. Lucky for him, “Days of our Lives” was looking to expand the Hernandez clan with the return of Dario (last played by Francisco San Martin). After meeting with executive producer Ken Corday, co-executive producer Albert Alaar and co-head writer Josh Griffith last summer, Vilasuso responded well to the idea of portraying a “very intelligent” character on the soap.

As we get closer to daytime’s biggest night, taking place on Sunday, May 1, the industry is abuzz today over which actors were submitted for a pre-nomination for the “The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” presented by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). With at least two actors per show for each category (exception being Supporting Actress) several of daytime television’s biggest and brightest stars are looking to vie for the coveted trophy that celebrates their hard work during calendar year 2015.

Former “Days of our Lives” star Blake Berris (ex-Nick Fallon) will guest-star in the Monday, February 22 episode of CBS’ “Supergirl,” Soap Opera Network has learned. He’ll play the role of Gabriel Phillips, a handsome fugitive with a secret who falls under the sway of an even more dangerous enemy. In addition to the hit series from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Television, Berris will also appear in at least two upcoming episodes of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars.”

In the current issue of TV Guide, on newsstands now, the magazine examines the four remaining daytime soaps consisting of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless” and how FOX’s “Empire” may have influenced a push for more diversity in 2015 during love in the afternoon.

With anticipation of returning characters, historic moments, and happy memories upon us as “Days of our Lives” celebrates its 50th anniversary later this fall, the daytime drama series is set to release a new photo book titled “Days of our Lives: 50 Years,” which was pieced together by co-executive producer Greg Meng. As part of the release, a multi-city promotional tour has been scheduled.

Thursday, June 12 will mark the final appearance of Camila Banus on NBC’s “Days of our Lives” as Gabi Hernandez shares an emotional goodbye with her brother Rafe (Galen Gering), Will Horton (Guy Wilson) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith), among others, as she prepares for the next phase in her life. Before she goes, however, it was revealed in today’s episode that the character played a pivotal role in the death of former lover Nick Fallon (Blake Berris).
