Hours after word broke that Ronn Moss would be departing “The Bold and the Beautiful,” fans of the CBS daytime drama series took to Twitter in order to share in their disappointment and they weren’t the only one’s. Moss’ on-screen partners Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Forrester) and Hunter Tylo (Taylor Forrester) also shared with fans their feelings over the sad news of Ridge Forrester’s (Moss) upcoming departure.

While “The Bold and the Beautiful” canceled its casting call last week following news of Ronn Moss’ (soon-to-be ex-Ridge Forrester) departure, sister soap “The Young and the Restless” has announced its plans to cast the contract role of an African American male.

According to Soap Opera Digest, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” has issued a casting call for a “new, hot guy.” According to the casting breakdown the show is seeking a “Male. Caucasian. 25-28 years old. Heart throb. Very Masculine. Edgy. Not afraid to get the job done. Bit of a cad.” It is a contract role.

On Saturday, August 18, Lee Phillip Bell (pictured right, with William J. Bell) and Michael Maloney (Soaps in Depth), co-authors of “The Young and Restless Life of William J. Bell” will be signing copies of their book at Barnes & Nobles Ventura from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM PT.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s Tanner Stransky, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is about to lose 25 year veteran Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester) after a contract dispute between the actor and the soap opera over salary hit a snag. A rep for Bell-Phillip Television, which produces “B&B,” confirmed Moss’ exit to Weekly.

While millions of fans may love the tantalizing tales of the Forrester’s and the Logan’s on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” many of them may not think twice about what it takes to make the world’s most watched daytime soap opera come alive each and every weekday. In a new book released earlier this month by Sourcebooks, entitled “Becoming Bold & Beautiful: 25 Years of Making the World’s Most Popular Daytime Soap Opera” with foreword by the soaps “core four” Susan Flannery, John McCook, Ronn Moss and Katherine Kelly Lang, the hardcover release provides detailed insight from the 1987 debut year of the soap to present day. Included throughout are over 200 photographs featuring cast and crew members on Stage 31 of CBS Television City in Los Angeles, and on location in Malibu, Cabo San Lucas, and Aspen.

Soaps In Depth is reporting that CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is about to lose another “core four” member as Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) has informed producers and the shows writing team that she plans to leave the series at the end of her newly signed short-term contract. Flannery, like the departing Ronn Moss (soon-to-be ex-Ridge Forrester), has been with the show since it debuted on March 23, 1987 – more than 25 years ago!

For those of you attending the Saturday, August 18 book signing of “The Young and the Restless Life of William J. Bell,” with co-authors Lee Phillip Bell and Michael Maloney, along with Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams, “The Young and the Restless”) and Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore, “The Young and the Restless”), who are all scheduled to attend, please take note of the following information courtesy of Barnes & Noble Ventura, which will be hosting the event.

Soap Opera Network has learned that Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) has been added to the “Young and Restless Life of William J. Bell” book signing being held today from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Barnes & Noble located at 4820 Telephone Road Ventura, CA 93003.
