According to Soap Opera Digest, Gibbs will portray Olivia Price, the mother of Paulina (Harry) and grandmother to Chanel (Raven Bowens) beginning Tuesday, August 17. “Get excited…,” tweeted the show’s head writer Ron Carlivati in response to the news.

Most famous for her portrayal as housekeeper Florence Johnson on “The Jeffersons,” Gibbs played Mary Jenkins on “227” alongside Harry from 1985-1990. She was honored with a star on the coveted Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, July 20. During the ceremony, the 90-year-old actress gave fans a scare after she nearly fainted moments after the unveiling.

“I just got overwhelmed for a minute,” Gibbs told ABC7. “I haven’t been excited until this moment!” Her daughter, Angela, explained she just needed a moment to “cool down.” Her agent added in a statement to USA Today, “Marla was overwhelmed with all the love and support she received and got overheated. “She just needed a few minutes to cool down.”
