Crystal Hunt joins the cast of “One Life to Live” on February 6th in the contract role of a stripper named Stacey. The 23-year-old actress is best known for portraying Elizabeth “Lizzie” Spaulding on “Guiding Light” from 2003-2006. In 2005 Hunt was both Daytime Emmy and Soap Opera Digest Award nominations. In addition to her work on “GL,” Hunt has appeared in the films “Brooklyn to Manhattan,” “The Derby Stallion,” and “Problem Child 2.” Rumor has it that the new character is related to someone in Llanview. Friday, December 19, 2008 12:53 AM EST | By Scotty Gore (SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Kamar de los Reyes confesses that “it is time to say good-bye” to “One Life to Live.” After nearly a decade on “OLTL” portraying gang leader turned police detective Antonio Vega, actor Kamar de los Reyes has decided not to renew his contract with the long running daytime drama, claiming that “Antonio is longer the central figure I believe he deserves to be,” and that “over the years, he has become less and less valued.” While admitting that Antonio’s time on the sidelines is likely not intentional on the soap’s part, de los Reyes does admit “I believe that there is a cut-off point for characters…and I think it may be time to say goodbye.” De los Reyes originated the role of Antonio Vega in 1995. Monday, December 15, 2008 4:51 PM ET | By Errol Lewis (SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “General Hospital’s” Bradford Anderson (Damien Spinelli) is a Top Person of 2008, according to USA Today via their Pop Candy Blog.Anderson was ranked 95th in their Top 100 listing, in which each December the  blog counts down to the year’s top 100 people ranging from musicians, actors, writers and other assorted entertainers. Anderson is noted for playing the “gleefully awkward Spinelli,” who the site believes is the only “geek” on daytime TV (they forgot Petey on “All My Children”). Additionally, the site wrongfully believes that more Spinelli-like characters will help increase daytime’s floundering ratings. However, they neglected to count how many episodes Spinelli, as played by Anderson, has appeared in year-to-date vs more veteran actors and other popular stars (the actor has appeared in 174 out of 223 “GH” episodes aired through November 28, 2008).This is what happens…

Alicia Minshew returns to the set of “All My Children” on Friday, January 9, according to her official fan club. Minshew’s character, Kendall Hart Slater, will finally return to the land of the living at the end of January 2009. Probably daytime’s most worked actress, one of the main sticking points in Minshew’s contract negotiations was vacation time particularly in relation to starting her married life; the actress married her long time beau, Richie Herschenfeld, on October 26. After re-signing earlier this fall the popular actress was allowed a well-earned, extended vacation period. Minshew begun that vacation at the end of the Friday, October 10 work-day but has since returned to pre-tape scenes on seven occasions.
