Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively that veteran soap stars Ronn Moss, Sean Kanan, Judi Evans and Patrika Darbo have joined the cast of LANY Entertainment’s “The Bay: The Series,” which premieres Chapter 12 on Thursday, May 1 with episodes running a bit longer in length than they had in prior chapters (episodes will now run between 17-20 minutes, typical for a weekly 1/2 hour series excluding commercials).
Moss, who departed CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” in September 2012 after portraying the widely popular role of Ridge Forrester for more than 25 years, joins “The Bay” as former Bay City District Attorney, John Blackwell. Evans (Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis, “DAYS”) will portray Katherine Blackwell, John’s wife. While at first it would appear that John and Katherine are in town to reconnect with their son, Damian Blackwell (Erik Fellows), the power couple are in actuality seeking vengeance against the Garrett family, who they share a hidden past.
As previously reported, Jade Harlow is joining the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in a recurring role. Now Soap Opera Network can report that the former “Passions” actress will be playing Sheryl, an old friend of Jordan’s (Chrishell Stause), who mixes it up with Kate (Lauren Koslow), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Rafe (Galen Gering) and Sami (Alison Sweeney).
In noting her debut on her Facebook page recently, Harlow said, “Happy New Year!!!! I’m thrilled to Finally announce that I’m headed back to NBC with a juicy reoccurring role on “Days of Our Lives”!!! With my 1st air-date just about one week away on 01/07/14… see u in Salem.”
In addition to her 2000-2003 stint as Jessica Bennett on “Passions,” Harlow is currently starring as Lianna Ramos on “The Bay: The Series,” a soap opera that also features several daytime veterans including “DAYS’” Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady).
Listed as a second unit director of photography during the third season of “The Bay: The Series,” David Pregerson, 23, a recent graduate of UCLA, has died after succumbing to injuries sustained by a hit-and-run that occurred on the morning of Friday, December 27 in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. According to police, he was walking home when he was hit by a vehicle and thrown into the bushes. The driver of the vehicle has yet to be identified. Pregerson died on Monday night after being taken off of life support.
In honor of his memory, producers of “The Bay” have released a Director’s Cut of Chapter 11: Part 1, which can be streamed beginning today.
