As members of our SON Community Message Boards duly noted in their monthly “Y&R” discussion thread, Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) looked like she was on the verge of signing a contract with CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” Bregman made it official when she tweeted a picture of herself signing on the dotted line. “It’s official! Signing my new contract with @Official_YandR on the shows 40th anniversary. #grateful #YR40,” her tweet read.

Rumor has it that Ian Buchanan, who just completed his run on NBC’s “Days of our Lives” yesterday as Ian McAllister, is heading back to ABC’s “General Hospital” after a 23-year absence. Buchanan was last seen in 1989 as Duke Lavery on the soap, but the character was killed off in 1990 while portrayed by actor Greg Beecroft.

“Happy Back to Work Day!!!! YAY!!” said Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) in a tweet earlier today as she prepared for her first day back on the set of ABC’s “General Hospital.” The actress also tweeted a photo of her script that was tucked away in her purse, saying “Bag packed. Off to work. #excitement.”

As we have been reporting for the past week, “Days of our Lives” actress Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton) has been embroiled in a controversy over a recent tweet she made to her followers about free speech. “Chick-fil-a today!!!! Loved every bite of it;)!! Land of the free and home of the brave. Love that we all appreciate free speech, right?” said Reeves on Tuesday, August 1. Since that day several people, including fans of Reeves, and of her show, have bombarded the actress with responses that either agree with her comment, call for her to apologize and/or clarify her statement, or used unmentionable language against her. Some of her daytime brethren have also spoken out on the issue, but not as harshly. On Thursday, August 16, Reeves finally responded by deleting her Twitter account…but not before making a bold statement.

Normally when a hot button topic hits the social networks most soap stars don’t reveal their personal beliefs or feelings unless they are Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis, “General Hospital”), who generally voices her opinion on anything from politics (real and behind the scenes) to television programs. On Tuesday, August 1, when “Days of our Lives” star Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton) tweeted “Chick-fil-a today!!!! Loved every bite of it;)!! Land of the free and home of the brave. Love that we all appreciate free speech, right?” to her more than 31,000 followers, she didn’t just stir up outrage amongst her fans and fans of the NBC drama series, she also sparked the attention of some of her daytime brethren.

Hours after word broke that Ronn Moss would be departing “The Bold and the Beautiful,” fans of the CBS daytime drama series took to Twitter in order to share in their disappointment and they weren’t the only one’s. Moss’ on-screen partners Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Forrester) and Hunter Tylo (Taylor Forrester) also shared with fans their feelings over the sad news of Ridge Forrester’s (Moss) upcoming departure.

As previously reported, Sebastian Roché and Ingo Rademacher are back as brothers Jacks (Jerry and Jasper “Jax,” respectively) on ABC’s “General Hospital.” While the on-screen duo have yet to share scenes together, the actors did share a collage of photos of them off-screen lounging around to their Twitter followers (@sebroche / @IngoRademacher) on Wednesday, August 8. Rademacher’s tweet said, “Me and me bro. Aka. The jacks brothers,” while Roché’s read, “The irreplaceable Jacks brothers take Mammoth !”
