“NEW GIRL,” “RAISING HOPE” AND “GLEE”

TO CONTINUE LAUGHS IN 2012-13 SEASON ON FOX

Spring Into Tuesdays Tomorrow with the Return of GLEE,

Followed By All-New Episodes of NEW GIRL and RAISING HOPE

FOX has ordered a second season of freshman breakout hit NEW GIRL, a third installment of the irreverent family comedy RAISING HOPE and a fourth season of the genre-defying musical sensation GLEE, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“Over the past season, NEW GIRL has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults; RAISING HOPE has established itself as one of the smartest and most unique offbeat comedies on television; and GLEE has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon,” said Reilly. “All three of these comedies add a fresh and distinctive flavor to our Tuesday nights, and I’m really happy to bring them back to our air next season.”

All-new episodes of GLEE return to Tuesdays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), beginning tomorrow, April 10, with NEW GIRL remaining at 9:00-9:31 PM ET/PT, and RAISING HOPE returning to its regular time slot at 9:31-10:00 PM ET/PT.

Currently in its first season, NEW GIRL is the No. 1 new series among Adults 18-34 and the No. 2 new scripted series among Adults 18-49. The show stars Zooey Deschanel as a school teacher who moved in with three single guys, and their new friendships changed their lives in unexpected ways. The Golden Globe-nominated series also stars Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone. In the all-new “Normal” episode airing tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10 (9:00-9:31 PM ET/PT), Jess (Deschanel) invites Russell (guest star Dermot Mulroney) to spend the weekend at the loft. Created by Liz Meriwether (“No Strings Attached”), NEW GIRL is produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Meriwether, Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Dave Finkel and Brett Baer are executive producers.

In the two-part season finale of RAISING HOPE beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10 (9:31-10:00 PM ET/PT), and concluding on Tuesday, April 17 (9:31-10:00 PM ET/PT), Nancy Grace guest-stars as the host of the newsmagazine series “Inside Probe,” which turns its focus on the Chance’s history, culminating in the family going on trial to fight for custody of baby Hope. Created by Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia, the series follows the Chance family as the unplanned addition to their family becomes a toddler. The show stars Lucas Neff, Emmy Award nominee Martha Plimpton, Garret Dillahunt, Shannon Woodward and Cloris Leachman. RAISING HOPE is produced by Amigos de Garcia Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

Now in its third season, GLEE continues to be a Top 10 comedy among Adults 18-49 and the No. 1 scripted series among Teens. The hit series returns this spring answering the dramatic cliffhangers of Quinn’s (Dianna Agron) car accident, Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel’s (Lea Michele) wedding and Sue’s (Jane Lynch) pregnancy, as graduation at McKinley High approaches. In the Spring Premiere “Big Brother” episode airing tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Blaine’s (Darren Criss) big-shot Hollywood actor brother Cooper (guest star Matt Bomer, “White Collar”) comes to visit. GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto serve as executive producers.

PREMIERE DATE ANNOUNCED FOR NATIONALLY SYNDICATED TALK SHOW “KATIE”

“KATIE” TO PREMIERE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2012

Executive Producer Jeff Zucker Announces Key Updates,
Hires for Katie Couric’s Upcoming Syndicated Daytime Show

Executive Producer Jeff Zucker today announced key production updates for Katie Couric’s highly anticipated nationally syndicated talk show, “Katie.” The live, weekday show has already been cleared in 94% of the country, and will premiere on Monday, September 10, 2012. The show is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

In an internal webcast to television stations that will air “Katie,” Zucker unveiled the show’s logo, and announced additions to the senior production staff including Director Joe Terry, who has spent the last 14 years as Director for “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and Co-Executive Producer Kathy Samuels. Samuels is a producer with nearly 20 years of television experience, including live television and daytime talk show programming at NBC, Paramount Domestic, and CBS, and has been a part of several successful launch teams, including “Rachael Ray” and “Access Hollywood.” Zucker will serve as the day-to-day showrunner.

The webcast was conducted from TV One at ABC’s Manhattan headquarters, which will serve as home to the “Katie” set. The studio itself has a rich history, having served as the backdrop to the Kennedy/Nixon Presidential debates, and has housed broadcast programming including “Good Morning America” and election night coverage. “Katie” will broadcast live, weekdays in front of a studio audience.

“Katie and I are thrilled to share these updates with our partners and Katie’s fans,” said Zucker. “We now have our studio, a great-looking logo that exudes all of the qualities that we want the show to convey, and a terrific team with a diverse background of experience. We couldn’t be more excited about September 10. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Katie Couric is an award-winning journalist, best-selling author and popular TV personality. In addition to hosting the new nationally syndicated program “Katie,” Couric is also a member of the ABC News team. “Katie” will be executive produced by Katie Couric and Jeff Zucker and is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

MISSING DEBUTS WITH ABC’S BIGGEST AUDIENCE IN 14 MONTHS DURING THURSDAY’S 8PM HOUR

Quick Take for Thursday, March 15, 2012
(Fast Affiliate Live + Same Day Ratings)

Finishing a Strong No. 2, ABC Posts its Most-Watched Thursday in 11 Weeks

“Missing” Debuts with ABC’s Biggest Audience in the Time Period in 14 Months and As TV’s Most-Watched Drama Debut in the Opening Hour of Prime in 1-1/2 Years

“Grey’s” Dominates the 9 O’clock Hour with its Biggest Audience in 5 Weeks

Up Over its Most-Recent Original in Viewers and Young Adults, ABC’s “Private Practice” Wins the 10pm Hour with its 2nd-Biggest Audience in Over 2 Months

Thursday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)
With the series debut of “Missing,” plus “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice,” ABC earned second place on Thursday night to an “Idol”-led Fox in Total Viewers (9.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4/7).

* ABC marked its most-watched Thursday in 11 weeks and equaled its top Adult 18-49 number on the night since early February – since 1/5/12 and 2/9/12.

“Missing” (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
From 8:00-9:00 p.m., opposite Fox’s “American Idol,” ABC’s “Missing” opened a strong No. 2, more than doubling the audience (+136% – 10.6 million vs. 4.5 million) of NBC’s original comedy block (“Community” return/”30 Rock” slot premiere). The ABC drama premiere also took second place in the hour in Adults 25-54 and key Women (W18-49/W25-54). The show gained audience from its first half-hour to its second half-hour (10.4 million to 10.7 million).

* Despite airing on the first Thursday after the change to Daylight Savings time, as overall TV usage levels declined, “Missing” delivered ABC’s biggest audience in the time period in 14 months – since 1/13/11. In fact it was TV’s most-watched drama debut during the opening hour of primetime on any night in 1-1/2 years – since 9/28/10.

* “Missing” represented a big improvement for ABC in the hour, boosting its time period by 4.7 million viewers (10.6 million vs. 5.9 million) and by 25% in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 1.6/4) over the Net’s season average with regular original programming.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” moved up to a dominant No. 1 in the 9 o’clock hour, leading its nearest competition (Fox) by 1.0 million viewers (9.7 million vs. 8.7 million) and by 36% in Adults 18-49 (3.0/8 vs. 2.2/6).

* Up by 7% in viewers over its last original telecast, “Grey’s” generated its biggest audience in 5 weeks – since 2/9/12.

“Private Practice” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
ABC’s “Private Practice” finished as the most-watched TV show in the 10 o’clock hour, defeating NBC’s “Awake” by 37% in Total Viewers (7.0 million vs. 5.1 million) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (2.2/6 vs. 1.6/4).

* Gaining 11% in Total Viewers and 5% in Adults 18-49 over its last original three weeks ago, “Private Practice” drew its 2nd-largest audience in more than 2 months – since 1/5/12.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 43% currently, from 40% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next-day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
