In a newly released promo, aired at the conclusion of today’s episode, highlighting all the goings on in Genoa City, viewers better get ready for several twists and turns in ongoing stories and the beginnings of new story arcs.
As if pondering who the father of her baby might actually turn out to be wasn’t enough, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is about to be hit with a world of pain next week on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” In a newly released promo, Victoria is hit with stomach pains, which she later tells a doctor, “This is how I felt before… when I lost the baby!” She is of course referring to when she lost hers and Billy’s baby shortly after the two were wed a few years ago following a confrontation with her father, Victor (Eric Braeden).

On Tuesday, June 24, Genoa City said hello again to a familiar name with a new face. On that day, daytime newcomer Burgess Jenkins took over the role of Billy Abbott on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” from David Tom, who himself succeeded three-time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor Billy Miller in the popular role, but how did Jenkins land himself on daytime’s most watched drama series? “My management called me and they were talking to me about this role, and when they sent me the breakdown on the character, I just fell in love. I absolutely fell in love with Billy,” said Jenkins when Soap Opera Network spoke with the actor in the gifting suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA as part of Daytime Emmy weekend. “There’s not a whole lot of characters you see that are so multi-layered and interesting that way. I had a chance to meet with the producers to discuss the character and the show, and it just seemed like a good fit,” added Jenkins, who noted that the conversation he had with producers on the character helped give him something to dig into before the cameras began to roll.
Soap Opera Network’s 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet coverage continues, this time with “The Young and the Restless'” Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Chloe Mitchell), who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Her co-star, Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), may have taken home the award at the end of the night, but Hendrickson was shining like a winner on the red carpet!
Once again proving that its at the top of the heap when it comes to daytime, CBS swept the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy awards with 13 drama related wins, leading all networks. “The Young and the Restless” took home a combined total of nine wins during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards and the Emmy Awards, while “The Bold and the Beautiful” managed to snag four. NBC’s “Days of our Lives” took home three Emmy awards, while ABC’s “General Hospital” garnered two. Meanwhile, Toln.com’s “All My Children” won three awards, while “One Life to Live” took home three, as well.

As previously reported, Burgess Jenkins takes over the role of Billy Abbott on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” later this month. Last night on our social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter), we noted that the actor’s first airdate is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24. Jenkins began filming scenes last week. Though “The Young and the Restless’” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman) has been nominated for four Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy awards in the past, this fifth nomination isn’t any less special. In fact, she says it’s always an honor to be recognized for hard work. “It’s always so thrilling, and it’s always an exciting, pleasant, flattering thing,” she enthuses. “I’ve gotten texts and emails and Facebook messages, and it really is so, so lovely. You really feel like it’s your birthday but even more so. Everybody professionally and personally comes out. And it’s so, so heartwarming.”
With over 20 years of daytime experience, you’d think that Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman, “The Young and the Restless”) would have already been nominated at least once for a Daytime Emmy Award, but shockingly enough, this year’s nomination marks the first for the actress! And she says it’s all due to the incredibly emotional Delia’s death storyline she and her “Y&R” counterparts were given this year. “I don’t always put myself in the running, because I don’t always have [strong material to submit]… but this year, I just thought, you know, I’m just going to put myself in there, so it feels really good, because my instincts, I guess, were right!” she says, adding that the impact of the storyline was felt by everybody right from the beginning. “The first day of shooting the Delia stuff, after she died, this weird sort of camaraderie came over all of us. I don’t think we anticipated the magnitude of how heavy it would be, because sometimes you get a storyline that’s really heavy and nobody is into it and nobody can play it, and it’s like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t really working.’ But that day, it meant something to everybody. It almost felt like [the death] really happened. It was surreal, because it was the first time I’ve ever experienced this in all of my years of daytime, where the storyline actually felt pretty real.”
After her daughter died last year as a result of a hit-and-run, a desperate Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will attempt everything in her power to have another child with Billy Abbott (David Tom), even going so far as to drug and “seduce” the married man into having sex with her. The question is, is it a “sinful seduction” or an outright rape? In a newly released promo for next week’s episodes of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the series calls what Chloe is doing to get her hands on Billy’s crown jewels (pun intended) as a sinful seduction, but visually it’s clear that Billy isn’t even conscious for Chloe’s plan. Meanwhile, Billy is also unknowingly already dealing with another set of baby drama. It turns out that his wife, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), is pregnant! The only problem is that it could be Billy’s, or it could be Stitch’s (Sean Carrigan). As for Ian Ward (Ray Wise), he better not get in the way of his son Dylan (Steve Burton) when it comes to the woman he loves, or he’ll end up paying the ultimate price.

On Friday, March 28, “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent Mo Rocca was on hand to film scenes alongside “The Young and the Restless” actresses Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Amelia Heinle (Victor Newman) for an upcoming appearance on daytime TV’s top rated drama series. News of Rocca’s appearance came to light when the correspondent tweeted a picture of himself with the ladies while noting he’ll be portraying the role of Milton the accountant in scenes scheduled to air on Wednesday, April 30, per a tweet by Scott.
