Comings & Goings
“All My Children” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” alum Sarah Michelle Gellar to play the Grim Reaper in supernatural romance film “Thud,” with Rudy Pankow as the devil.
It’s been the hottest rumor of the summer, but now it is official, Billy Miller (ex-Billy Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”) is joining the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” in the contract role of Jason Morgan.
During the Jason Thompson and Dominic Zamprogna “General Hospital” Fan Club Weekend event earlier this month, Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Carlos Rivera) stopped by and started a revolution when he began chanting, “Free Carlos!” Looks like the show heard him loud and clear as he’s set to appear on the Friday, August 29 episode, per a preview clip aired at the end of today’s episode. In it, Carlos is visited in prison by Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo), who reveals that she knows who was responsible for the accident that killed her son with Patrick (Thompson). In an interview with Soap Opera Digest in its newest issue, on sale tomorrow, Parise tells the publication it was a great day when he got the call to return. “I was excited. I felt like a boxer in training who gets the word that there’s a fight coming up!”
Two days after it was revealed that Melissa Archer (ex-Natalie Buchanan, “One Life to Live”) would be joining the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” this fall as an as yet to be named character fans have been wetting their teeth looking to hear more and today they get their answers!
Last week “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini revealed that there will be plenty of villains hanging around the denizens of Port Charles this fall and he wasn’t kidding. While a show rep issued a “no comment” when contacted by Soap Opera Network, actress Robin Mattson announced on her Facebook page yesterday that she is returning to the daytime soap as Heather Webber in the near future. “Heather is returning to GH soon!” read Mattson’s Facebook posting. Fans last saw Heather in February, when she was carted off to jail.
Rumors began swirling earlier today that an East coast redhead with another life to live had joined a daytime soap. Turns out the redhead in question is none other than Melissa Archer, formerly of ABC and Prospect Park’s “One Life to Live.” Per Soap Opera Digest, Archer has joined the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in an as yet to be named role.
Legendary host of “The Price is Right,” Bob Barker is set to appear on the Thursday, August 28 episode of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
Per TV Guide’s Michael Logan, legendary host of “The Price is Right,” Bob Barker, is returning to CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” on Thursday, August 28 in scenes that’ll spoof his classic fight scene from the 1996 Adam Sandler film, “Happy Gilmore.”
He’s been prancing around Genoa City only showing his hands to viewers, while the rest of the town thinks he’s dead, but Adam Newman is most certainly returning to CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” in the coming months with a new face after supposedly dying in a fiery explosion in late January as played by actor Michael Muhney. TV Guide’s Michael Logan is reporting that “Smallville” and “Revenge” star Justin Hartley is returning to daytime television to assume the role of the devilish Adam just in time for the all important November sweeps ratings period. Hartley, who will report to the CBS Television Center studio where “Y&R” is filmed in late September, previously portrayed the role of Fox Crane on NBC’s “Passions” from 2002 to 2006.
It’s been over 10 years since we last saw Grace Turner on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” as played by “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Jennifer Gareis, but anyone who saw the promo highlighting this week’s worth of shows where Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) said to a mystery blonde, “It’s good to see you,” just before she makes sexual advances on him, could tell the woman in question was someone he had intimate knowledge of and not some random new character. In fact, with Grace being in revealing clothing so much during her tenure on the soap back in the day, anyone could recognize Gareis solely based on body and hair style (yes, Grace had plenty of fun with several of Genoa City’s hottest men).
Despite allegations of inappropriate behavior against one of his co-workers, which is said to have led to his firing from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” last December, Michael Muhney revealed earlier this evening that he was this close to returning to the daytime drama series to reprise his role of Adam Newman.
With NBC’s “Days of our Lives” currently filming 4-5 months ahead of airdate, one has to wonder how the daytime drama series manages to keep storyline and casting secrets under wraps before the world begins chattering. Well one such secret is finally out of the bag. The drama series has cast daytime newcomer Billy Flynn in the contract role of Chad DiMera, who was previously portrayed by Casey Deidrick.
It looks like “General Hospital” fans are going to have to get used to a new face: The role of Danny has reportedly been recast!
