Comings & Goings

Elia Cantu, Jada Hunter, Days of our Lives

Warner Bros. Animation is developing a new TV series adaptation of “Dark Shadows,” based on the classic gothic soap opera and the father of the modern-day vampire, Barnabas Collins.

Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith and and Jason Thompson

Every wedding needs a planner, even if it is a couple’s fourth time saying, “I Do.” So the newly engaged Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) hire one to coordinate their next trip down the aisle on “The Young and the Restless,” and she’s being played by “The Price Is Right” model Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith.

Troy Ruptash

“General Hospital’s” mysterious Dixon, who Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) has been heard conversing with for the last several weeks, has finally been identified as actor Troy Ruptash, who debuts in the recurring role beginning Friday, February 19, Soap Opera Network has learned.

Angell Conwell

Actress Angell Conwell is returning to CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” next month as Leslie Michaelson, reports Soap Opera Digest. According to the publication, Conwell’s character is being called to Genoa City to help someone in need of her legal expertise on the Monday, March 14 episode of the soap.

Jordi Vilasuso

After portraying Griffin Castillo on “All My Children” and Tony Santos on “Guiding Light,” actor Jordi Vilasuso decided the timing was right for another turn in daytime. Lucky for him, “Days of our Lives” was looking to expand the Hernandez clan with the return of Dario (last played by Francisco San Martin). After meeting with executive producer Ken Corday, co-executive producer Albert Alaar and co-head writer Josh Griffith last summer, Vilasuso responded well to the idea of portraying a “very intelligent” character on the soap.

Despite claims by “Days of our Lives” executive producer Ken Corday that any character killed after September 2015 would remain dead, rumors are running rampant that the soap has secretly been in negotiations with three-time Daytime Emmy Award Winner Chandler Massey to reprise his role as Will Horton, who was murdered in October by the necktie killer (Ben Weston, played by Robert Scott Wilson) during Guy Wilson‘s turn in the popular role. Adding fuel to the fire are recent comments by Massey’s former publicist, Jeffrey Ballard.

Chaz Bono

“The Bold and the Beautiful” will soon welcome Chaz Bono to its roster of guest stars. The child of Sonny and Cher will appear as a minister in the Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1 episodes of the CBS Daytime drama series, reports PEOPLE.
