Today marks the 27th anniversary of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which was created by the late William J. Bell and his wife Lee Phillip Bell as a sister soap to the widely popular and successful, “The Young and the Restless.” “B&B” now joins an exclusive club of scripted broadcast dramas, which includes “Y&R,” “General Hospital,” “Days of our Lives,” “All My Children,” “Another World,” “One Life to Live,” “As The World Turns” and “Guiding Light,” into the top ten list of the longest running scripted dramas broadcast on network television.

Background: Errol is one of the premier voices covering all five daily daytime dramas, including "Beyond the Gates," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of our Lives," "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless." He began watching soaps in 1993, around the time Luke and Laura Spencer returned to “General Hospital,” but they weren’t what got him watching regularly. “It was Lucy Coe and her duck Sigmond,” he says of how he got started with soaps.
He received his BA from Baruch College, double-majoring in English Literature and Journalism, and double-minoring in Communications and Psychology. He also holds an AA in Business Administration.

In response to rampant rumors that she will soon be joining the cast of “General Hospital” in the role of Nina, the comatose wife of Michael Easton’s Silas Clay, Michelle Stafford (ex-Phyllis Summers, “The Young and the Restless”) has taken to social media to dispel said rumors. The actress tweeted last night, “I want u all to remember as u drift off to sleep…people who start rumors have super little pee pees…,” before wishing her fans and followers a good night’s sleep. On Thursday, March 13, Michael Robinson, fullback of the Super Bowl XLVIII champion Seattle Seahawks, will make his acting debut on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the network announced today.
With “The Young and the Restless” gearing up for the unveiling of Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) new fashion line, Chelsea Lawson for Jabot, and the subsequent battleground between the fashionista and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), as well as Lily (Christel Khalil) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan), it would only make sense for the series to use the storyline as a crossover opportunity with sister soap “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
Since acquiring encore airing rights to CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” late last year, TVGN had been airing the series with a one day delay. Beginning Monday, February 17, however, the network announced today that it will start airing same day episodes of the world’s most watched daytime drama series.
NBC’s “Days of our Lives” continues its season long ratings momentum as the series delivered its biggest Women 18-49 audience in nearly three years, according to Nielsen Media Research data for the week of February 3-7, 2014. With a 1.1 rating, 7 share among women 18-49 and 0.6 rating among women 18-34, “DAYS” tied for fourth place among all broadcast network daytime series in the women 18-49 demographic and tied for fifth in women 18-34.
Justin Gaston has joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” in the contract role of Ben, a guitar playing “country boy,” per a casting call from last summer.
