If you tuned into today’s episode of ABC’s “General Hospital,” you might have been shocked to learn that the professor Kristina Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) admitted to have been willing to have sex with in order to receive a passing grade was not a man, but a woman! Even more shocking was how the soap was able to keep any hint of who would be portraying the role under wraps. Enter “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester) as Parker Forsyth.

Last week, the Casting Society of America (CSA) presented “The 31st Annual Artios Awards,” which honors casting directors for their hard work and dedication to casting television shows and films across the country during calendar year 2015. Sadly, for the first time in as many years, daytime was shut out of recognition by the organization. It only has itself to blame.

After struggling in the fall, ABC’s “The View” appears to be turning things around. The daytime talk show, along with network counterpart “The Chew,” attracted their largest audiences in a year, according to newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data for the week of January 18-22, 2016.

Since being brought back to ABC’s “General Hospital” in a recurring capacity in 2013, actress Lynn Herring has proven time and time again how viable her role as Lucy Coe is to the legacy of the daytime drama series, particularly in regards to the annual Nurses Ball event. Sadly, the soap hasn’t provided the actress with enough story potential for her character, whose married so many men in Port Charles that she rivals only Pine Valley’s Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) from “All My Children.” Herring recently took to Facebook to share her desire to do more than an average day player appearance on the soap.

Fans of “The Young and the Restless'” Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle Abbott) may miss seeing their favorite actor on the daytime drama series on a more consistent basis, now that he’s on recurring status with the daytime soap, but at least they’ll soon be able to see him in primetime in an upcoming episode of CBS’ “NCIS.”

Jessica Collins is not only celebrating her final pre-nomination for her portrayal of Avery Bailey Clark on “The Young and the Restless,” but she’s foremost enjoying the birth of her new daughter.

CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” were both up week-to-week in total viewers during the week of January 18-22, 2016, according to newly released ratings data. Showing a dramatic uptick in audience throughout its current iteration, “Let’s Make a Deal 2” delivered its largest weekly audience ever. “Let’s Make a Deal 1” delivered its best performance since January 31, 2014.

Among the list of pre-nominated performers for “The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” is “Days of our Lives” actor Christopher Sean (Paul Narita), who shared on his Instagram page that he was honored to not only be pre-nominated for his role on the daytime soap in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category, but also being able to positively represent the LGBT community.

ABC is preparing to tackle the fashion world in an iconic way. Deadline is reporting that the network has given a pilot order to “Model Woman,” a soapy period inspired by the Robert Lacey book Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty, which chronicled the often outspoken and controversial Eileen Ford who started her career as a model before co-founding the world renowned Ford Modeling Agency with her husband, Jerry.
