As previously reported, “The Young and the Restless’ Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle Abbott) will be appearing in an upcoming episode of CBS’ “NCIS.”

Soap Opera Network has since learned the actor will portray Navy Petty Officer James Muldoon, who witnesses a crime and comes to the aid of someone in need in the Tuesday, March 1 episode of the series, titled “After Hours.”

“Working my inner Navy officer again this week,” wrote the actor on his Instagram page earlier this week as he shared a selfie of himself in full military costume.

Buchanan joined the cast of “Y&R” in early 2015. He was bumped to recurring status in October of that year. Initial reports said the actor had been let go, which would have made him the third actor in as many years to portray Kyle Abbott on the soap opera.

The actor has also appeared in episodes of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Castle,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Jessie” and “No Ordinary Family,” among others. He played “Male Tribute” in a 2012 edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of a “Hunger Games” segment.
