On the Monday, August 17, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Kat (Colby Nixon) chose Izaiah (Lami) over Tomás (Alex Alegria), Vernon (Clifton Davis) got in Bill’s face about Dani (Karla Mosley), and we saw why Andre (Sean Freeman) is so scared of Heather (Ashley Jones).

That’s What You Call Room Service

Andre was unnerved – but not surprised – to see Heather in the hotel room he’d been summoned to. Heather asked if Andre had gotten the wedding present champagne she had sent to him and Dani, and marveled that Andre – the man who couldn’t commit to a dinner reservation when she’d known him – had actually settled down and gotten married. Andre gave vague answers about Dani when Heather asked about his wife, with Heather pretending she hadn’t already met her.

Heather ran her hand up Andre’s chest and cooed about how they used to “really enjoy each other.” Andre deflected and asked what had brought Heather to town; when she mentioned her brother, Andre recalled that Heather had never talked about having one. He was even more stunned after Heather revealed that her sibling was Joey Armstrong, since Heather had always used the last name “Wallach.”

Andre worried about Joey being aware of their prior relationship, but Heather promised him that Joey was none the wiser – then pulled Andre into a kiss. “This cannot happen,” Andre stuttered as he made an excuse and said his goodbyes. “Goodbye for now,” Heather smirked to herself, caressing her lips.

Hit The Road, Jack

Tomás brought Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) a case file he’d had to sneak out of their office because no one wanted Bill to strain himself by working. When Bill asked how Tomás was getting along with Naomi, the junior attorney lied that things were fine. He left once Vernon arrived; Bill was pleased when Vernon said he and Anita had wanted to be sure he was all right. But then Vernon asked why Hayley wasn’t around, and Bill determined that Vernon had heard the rumors that Hayley was cheating on him with “Sammy.”

Though Bill laughed it off as gossip, Vernon remarked that Hayley might be reacting to Bill’s attentions toward Dani and outright demanded to know whether Bill was planning to rekindle his former marriage. Bill griped that Andre had sent Vernon and insisted that he didn’t want another divorce on his hands – and besides, Dani had been adamant about remaining with Andre. Vernon promised his next visit wouldn’t be as cordial if Bill did anything to break Andre and Dani up.

Guns Down

At the Dupree mansion, Kat and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) visited to show Anita (Tamara Tunie) their new purse design, which they wanted to call the “Nikki.” Anita predicted that Kat would end up disowned by Nicole if they went with a nickname Leslie used for her…at least if they didn’t run it by Nicole first. The cousins agreed to do so, and Anita asked how Kat was doing after the donation surgery. Kat smiled, saying she was fine and glad she had gone through with it.

Kat continued that she would have regretted it had she declined and something had happened to Eva. Anita hinted that Kat’s perspective toward Eva was evolving; Kat replied that she and Eva wouldn’t be braiding each other’s hair anytime soon, but conceded that if Smitty and Martin, their kids, and even Chelsea didn’t think Eva was the devil incarnate, maybe she could let go of that image of her.

Later, Vernon came home to Anita and relayed that he had given Bill a talking-to about any intentions he might have to reunite with Dani. The elder Duprees hoped that, now that they had discussed the matter with both Dani and Bill, they wouldn’t be inclined to act on the connection that still existed between them. Anita, specifically, prayed that they wouldn’t give in to temptation.

Chelsea visited Bill and snatched his work out of his hand. She didn’t believe it when Bill swore that Hayley was actually in the hospital’s pediatric wing donating books; she deemed Hayley too selfish. Bill countered that Hayley was likely acting because she and Bill decided not to have children. Chelsea was genuinely surprised to receive this news – and even more so that Dani already knew about it.

Me, U, And Hennessey

Jacob (Jibre Hordges) went to Uptown to discuss with Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) a surprise he was planning for Naomi (Arielle Prepetit). Grayson assured Jacob that he had handled his part of it and that the secret was safe. Izaiah arrived to meet with his older brother, and they discussed how their mother, Darlene, as a 911 dispatcher, had helped to save Bill’s life by talking Caroline through resuscitation techniques.

When Jacob asked about Eva, Izaiah admitted that his girlfriend was doing fine physically but struggling mentally. Jacob understood how jarring it must have been for Eva to pass out and then wake up much later with a part of someone else’s body inside her. The Hawthorne siblings were amazed that not only was Darlene being nice to Eva and Elon was making inroads with Izaiah, but Leslie was grateful toward Kat, and Eva and Kat had established a “fragile truce.” They chuckled that hell had frozen over.

Izaiah noticed that Andre had bellied up to the bar for a round of day drinking. Jacob approached him and tried to get him to talk about what was obviously bothering him. When Andre clammed up, Jacob assumed he must be worried about Dani and Bill and spoke of how they’d always run hot and cold—plus, just because Dani was concerned about Bill’s health didn’t mean she wanted Bill back. Andre declared that he trusted his wife, and Jacob offered to lend Andre an ear if he needed it.

Get What’s Mine

Dani swung by Bill’s office to see how Naomi was doing filling in for him. Naomi didn’t want Dani to be so vocal on that subject, since Tomás had been territorial about Naomi being there. Dani didn’t think Tomás clearly understood Dupree family loyalty, but cracked up laughing when Naomi suggested that Tomás could be family himself one day if he married Kat; Dani didn’t think Kat was anywhere near ready, the way she had turned down Tomás’ proposal in front of the whole clan.

Naomi pressed Dani about her referring to Bill as her husband, prompting Dani to assure her daughter that there was nothing to worry about – and that she had also spoken to Andre, assuring him of the same. Tomás entered, and Dani droned about how thankful he must be that Naomi was there so he wouldn’t have to handle everything at the office himself. In fact, Dani thought Tomás should take the afternoon off so he could spend it with Kat. Tomás barely hid his irritation – which Dani seemed to be purposely aggravating.

Afterward, Tomás returned to Naomi, who was upset that he had taken the case file to Bill without keeping her in the loop. Tomás spat that he couldn’t overrule Bill when he wanted something the way Naomi could and announced that he would be taking the afternoon off. He met Kat at the mall and offered up an afternoon of sex, but she was so into planning her marketing strategies for the “Nikki” and the upcoming Tokyo trip that she casually told him to go work out instead.

Yet, when Izaiah saw Kat, she readily took a break and bantered with him about how he had bought a ChelseaKat purse for Darlene. Eager, she showed the “Nikki” to Izaiah, but when he mused about buying it for Eva when it came out, Kat suddenly said it would only be available as a very limited release. Izaiah saw through Kat, and they shared a knowing smile.

Jacob brought Naomi some takeout from Uptown and described how he had seen Andre there drowning his sorrows. Naomi deemed it “not good,” but was certain that things between Andre and Dani would settle once she was out of “crisis mode” due to Bill being in the hospital.

Too Much Of Us Is Dangerous

As Andre drank booze like water, he thought back to meeting with a former police officer in London, whose blood seemed to turn cold when Andre said he’d been seeing a “Heather Wallach.” The man said that Heather was the reason he’d left the force and that she was lethal. When Andre said he had inadvertently taken a photo of something he wasn’t supposed to see, the officer begged him to delete the pic immediately and run away — or risk Heather killing him — rather than going after his loved ones.

Presently, Dani arrived at the bar, having been called by Grayson because Andre was no longer in any condition to drive. When Dani remarked that all her calls to him had gone straight to voicemail, Andre lied, saying he had been in a meeting. Dani concluded that Andre was upset with her and invited him to share his feelings, but he claimed nothing was wrong before letting Dani take him home.
