When “One Life to Live” went off the air just over a year ago it was my favorite daily drama and it had been for quite some time. So, while the show’s ratings were rising, it was quite a shock to learn it had been canceled in 2011. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous with the series coming back, but this time without executive producer Frank Valentini and head writer Ron Carlivati.

As evidenced by the first episode of “One Life to Live,” life in Llanview has continued long after the soap ended its ABC run in January 2012. No, we don’t mean that the soap has jumped ahead five years as sister soap “All My Children” has done in order to progress its storylines, we mean characters didn’t just walk upstairs to the attic and kept silent and still while the millions of fans mourned their reported last breaths. Scheduled to re-launch on Monday, April 29 via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes, the soap is about to take things higher with the opening of Blair’s new night club, Shelter, as the backdrop to getting things moving once more.

UPDATE 4/7/13: While it is the same duration in length, TOLN has released a revised version of the “One Life to Live” recap video. The revised video removes usage of Little Richard singing and playing the piano during Bo and Nora’s 1995 wedding. To accomodate, fans are able to see an additional second or two of the wedding as the duo walks up the aisle.

Sadly, the network canceled the soap in 2011 and the series aired its then final episode in January 2012. Now, in anticipation of its return on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes on Monday, April 29, The OnLine Network has released a recap of the series as hosted by Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord Buchanan).

Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively that “One Life to Live‘s” Kassie DePaiva (Blair Manning) took to song yesterday during scenes filmed on the Stamford, CT set of the drama series as cast members were left in awe of the power in her voice. DePaiva sang her hit single, “No Regrets,” from her 2004 CD of the same name.

In the emotional scene, Blair takes to song in her new nightclub, Shelter, after things hit a snag for the new establishment. Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) insists Blair entertain the crowd until things can be returned to normal. “No Regrets” features lyrics that are a subtle hint to Todd that Blair’s not over him.

In a new interview with Carolyn Hinsey‘s “Tainted Dreams” blog, Kassie DePavia reveals her excitement on the return of “One Life to Live” and previews fans on what they can expect from the show now that it is being produced by Prospect Park.

“My whole body just shook with happiness. I am so glad to be doing this again. There is a really good energy there. So many of the people that I had grown to love at ‘One Life to Live’ are there, and I had a complete flashback to P&G [Procter & Gamble] with all the people working there that I know from ‘Guiding Light,’” says DePavia, who began her daytime career on “GL” as Chelsea Reardon from 1986-1991 before taking over the role of Blair on “One Life” in 1993.

As part of their partnership with Universal Music Group, which allows The OnLine Network (TOLN) to “provide compelling recorded music and songs, and artist cross-promotion and integration, to a powerful new audience,” Prospect Park has cast Jessica “Jessie” Malkouti from Jessie and the Toy Boys in a role on “One Life to Live” as, what else, an aspiring musician.

The news was released earlier this afternoon on the official “OLTL” Twitter page, asking fans to “RT to spread the word!” The singer, who is signed with Prospect Park Records, tweeted Monday that she was “Packing for CT… About to film my television acting debut!!”
