Soap Stars to Take Part in ‘Daytime Cares: A Live Event’ Hosted by Alan Locher and Laura Wright

A plethora of daytime stars past and present will take part in "Daytime Cares: A Live Event" on Saturday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m. EDT on YouTube and Facebook.

It’s not very often that fans get to interact with their favorite daytime stars at night but this one is special. On Saturday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m. EDT/5:00 p.m. PDT, a plethora of actors past and present will come together for “Daytime Cares: A Live Event” hosted by Emmy Award winner Laura Wright (Carly, “General Hospital”) and Alan Locher of “The Locher Room.” The special live stream is being presented in partnership with Daytime Cares, a daytime television community-based organization spearheaded by “Days of our Lives” actors Arianne Zucker (Nicole) and Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel).

The special live-streamed variety show plans to help honor and uplift fans during the COVID-19 crisis and can be viewed live on “The Locher Room’s” YouTube channel (click here) and on Facebook (click here). StreamYard.com is the presenting sponsor for the event.

“Our fans have supported us for decades,” said Wright in a statement. “Daytime actors are used to being able to connect with our fans in person. We can’t do that right now, but this show is our way of giving them a virtual ‘hug’ to let them know that we are all in this together. And we are so happy to partner with Arianne and Shawn. Their Daytime Cares website provides information and resources for those affected by this crisis and or looking for ways to give back.”

“I grew up watching these shows, long before I started working in the industry,” said Locher, a former publicist for the P&G soaps “As The World Turns” and “Guiding Light.” He added, “I truly understand the connection fans have to their favorite daytime actors and characters. I started ‘The Locher Room’ because I suspected that the fans – like myself – would love to see some familiar faces during this difficult time in our lives. I’ve truly been blown away by the response. I’m so excited that I can use my channel for this special live event.”

Actors scheduled to take part include Lamon Archey (Eli, “DAYS”), Maurice Benard (Sonny, “GH”), Ian Buchanan (ex-James, “The Bold and the Beautiful”; ex-Duke, “GH”), Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly, “DAYS”; ex-Olivia, “Guiding Light”), James DePaiva (ex-Max, “One Life to Live”), Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eve, “DAYS”; ex-Blair, “OLTL”), William deVry (Julian, “GH”), Chad Duell (Michael, “GH”), Andrea Evans (ex-Tina, “OLTL”; ex-Rebecca, “Passions”), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah, “DAYS”), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen, “DAYS”), Bill Hayes (Doug, “DAYS”), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie, “DAYS”), Finola Hughes (Anna, “GH”), Michael E.
