All Things About

The Young and the Restless

As previously reported, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is currently on location filming scenes in Amsterdam for upcoming episodes of the daytime drama series. In a soap opera twist, cast members from the soap met up with the stars of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” which reportedly now includes former “B&B” actress Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”; Kristen DiMera, “Days of our Lives”) and Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie Reed). Incidentally, because Bravo has yet to confirm either actresses participation in the series, it looks like the meeting of the former soapers (along with “Housewife” Lisa Vanderpump) and the cast of “B&B” has resulted in the “secret” being revealed!

Former soap star Eden Riegel (ex-Heather Stevens, “The Young and the Restless;” ex-Bianca Montgomery, “All My Children”) may have bowed out from the daytime world for the time being, but she’s still hard at work in front of the camera, this time on CBS’ primetime hit, “Criminal Minds.” And Soap Opera Network is bringing you the first sneak peek at the actress’ stint on the show, which also stars “Y&R’s” Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters)!

Television and film veteran Sally Kellerman — who’s known as “M*A*S*H’s” Margaret “Hot Lips” O’Houlihan — has a new gig to add to her repertoire: The actress has been cast on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless!”

Since it was announced earlier this month that Billy Miller (ex-Billy Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”) would officially be joining the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” in the contract role of Jason Morgan, previously portrayed by Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy, “Y&R”) after months of rumors and speculation, the three time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor will finally show his face on the Wednesday, October 1 episode of the daytime drama series, it was revealed today by head writer Ron Carlivati and actress Michelle Stafford (Nina Clay) on Twitter.

You might think you’re seeing double today when tuning into NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” but no need to get your eyes checked: Eileen Davidson is in fact appearing as two different characters. Today marks the day that the Emmy-winning actress appears as both Susan Banks (whacky mother of EJ [James Scott]) and Kristen DiMera in a storyline that brings the arch-nemeses face to face! But if that’s not enough to make you jump up and down in glee, get this: Davidson also appears on “The Young and the Restless” as Ashley Abbott today — which marks the first time in soap opera history that an actress is appearing on two different shows as three different characters in one day!

On today’s episode of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the Nicholas and Sharon Bachelor/Bachelorette party is about to go down in the history books as the one which found 20 of the show’s characters all get arrested at the same exact time during the same exact event, a first for daytime television. “It’s one of the funniest shows we’ve shot in so long. Everybody is in the show. It’s a bachelor and a bachelorette party, everything goes wrong, everybody had so much fun. I mean, we had fun shooting it, the characters were having a great time at this party. It really was almost like ‘The Hangover’ [the movie] kind of,” shared Sharon Case (Sharon) in a joint interview with Joshua Morrow (Nicholas) set to air today on Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family.”

In an exclusive interview with Australia’s TV Week Soap Extra, “The Young and the Restless'” Michael Muhney (ex-Adam Newman) has point blank denied the allegations that he groped the breasts of one of his former co-stars, which was reportedly the reason show producers opted to drop him from his contract last December. “I didn’t want to be desperately screaming: ‘I didn’t do it!’” Muhney told the publication in its newest issue as to why it took him so long to defend himself after staying silent for so long. “The rumour was untrue,” he continued.

Fall has officially hit “The Young and the Restless’” Genoa City, but the big fall — or rather fallout — you’ve been waiting for regarding the Neil, Hilary and Devon triangle has yet to descend. But Mishael Morgan (Hilary) says that’s all about to change! Soap Opera Network caught up with the actress, who reveals that her alter ego’s rendezvous with father/son pair Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Devon (Bryton James) is on the verge of exploding — and it’s going to leave one ugly Winters family mess!

With photography by Brad Everett Young, several of daytime’s hottest young stars including “General Hospital’s” Kristen Alderson (Kiki), Chad Duell (Michael), Ryan Carnes (Lucas), Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) and Ian Buchanan (Duke), “Days of our Lives'” Brendan Coughlin (T), Allison Paige (Bev), Guy Wilson (Will), Jen Lilley (Theresa), Billy Flynn (Chad), Casey Moss (JJ) and Kevin Riggin (Rory), and “The Young and the Restless'” Camryn Grimes (Mariah), along with stars from “Baby Daddy” (Derek Theleer), “Teen Wolf” (Stephen Lunsford) and “Power Rangers,” have taken part in the Dream Loud campaign that hopes to bring music and the arts programs back into schools. “Port Charles” alum Brian Gaskill is also featured in the campaign, among countless others.

“The Young and the Restless” has cemented its spot as the number one daytime drama for the past 25 years with a record of outstanding decisions, and the sudser’s latest flawless move was the addition of Emmy-winning actress Gina Tognoni, who took over the role of Phyllis Summers (previously portrayed by Michelle Stafford, Nina Clay, “General Hospital”) this year. The Missouri native showed off her serious acting chops as “Guiding Light’s” Dinah Marler and “One Life to Live’s” Kelly Cramer, and now that Phyllis is finally out of her lengthy coma and headed back to Genoa City starting this week, Tognoni will be giving soap fans yet another dose of her powerhouse skills — but this time, as the feisty GC diva “Y&R” fans have loved since she hit the scene back in 1994!
