The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Pre-Nominations Announced

As previously reported, everyone loves CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and the year-to-year growth in Total Viewers, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49 during the week of October 6-10, 2014 continues to prove that point. In addition to “Y&R,” CBS is experiencing overall growth with “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Talk.” In the case of “B&B,” the soap is seeing plenty of women enjoying the storyline surrounding Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Caroline Spencer Forrester (Linsey Godfrey) along with the happenings of Hope Logan (Kim Matula) following the recent revelation that she’s with child after a recent romp with one of the Spencer brothers. The soap is up 23% in Women 25-54 and 38% in Women 18-49 compared to the same week last year.

Soap Opera Network first reported on the possibility in early July, while speaking with “The Bold and the Beautiful” executive producer and head writer Bradley P. Bell, and now it is official: The daytime drama series will film a romantic story on the canals of Amsterdam the first week of October, the soap announced yesterday, September 24.

“The Bold and the Beautiful’s” John McCook (Eric Forrester) and Hunter Tylo (Dr. Taylor Hayes) will be joining previously announced Thorsten Kaye, Heather Tom, Scott Clifton and Kim Matula for the official 2014 “B&B” Fan Show, which will take place in the Netherlands on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. The event provides fans with a unique peek into the behind-the-scenes world of the daytime drama, and a deep dive into the turbulent lives of the characters. The show will feature interaction between fans and the cast, including the chance to ask questions as well as revelations about the actors’ private lives and projects outside of the series.

Beginning today, July 30, fans of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” will get the chance to purchase tickets to see their favorite stars from the world’s most watched daily drama series for a live stage show in the Netherlands on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. This special meeting between fans and cast members will be the Official 2014 B&B Fan Show and will take place in a community just outside the Dutch capital of Amsterdam (Utrecht) at Theater Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn. As previously reported, “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will air live exclusively on the internet for the first time on Sunday, June 22 from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. While you get yourself prepared to watch daytime’s biggest night online, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the presenter lineup for the telecast, which includes several of daytime’s biggest names from soap operas, talk shows and game shows, among many other genres airing during the daypart.

In 2013, “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Kim Matula (Hope Logan) and Linsey Godfrey (Caroline Spencer Forrester), “General Hospital’s” Kristen Alderson (nominated for her portrayal as Starr Manning), “One Life to Live’s” Kelley Missal (Danielle Manning) and “The Young and the Restless'” Hunter King (Summer Newman) proved they were the outstanding younger ladies for their respective daytime dramas. On Sunday, June 22, they now compete with each other to find out which of them was the most Outstanding Younger Actress in a Daytime Drama Series during “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.”

The term “whirlwind” doesn’t even come close to describing the recent life of “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Kim Matula (Hope Logan). In addition to accepting “B&B’s” ninth consecutive Golden Nymph award at the International TV Audience Awards during the 54th Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monte Carlo this month and just finishing filming on location in Paris, France, she’s still basking in the recent news that she officially received her very first Emmy nomination!

Although CBS is not broadcasting the awards itself this year, the network announced today that it’ll celebrate “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” with six days of Twitter chats with several of its stars, producers and executives from CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Talk,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right.” The chats will take place every weekday beginning Friday, June 13 and running through Friday, June 20, leading up to daytime’s biggest night on Sunday, June 22. While he isn’t nominated for an Emmy this year, “B&B’s” Sean Kanan kicks things off beginning tomorrow, June 13, which also happens to coincide with his return to the world’s most watched daytime soap opera when his character Deacon Sharpe reunites with his daughter, Hope Logan (Kim Matula).
