Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for barbeques, catching up with friends and working on that (long overdue) tan, but being soap fans and all, it’s only natural to squeeze in a little soap-worthy entertainment, as well. Luckily, Lifetime Movie Network knows this and chose tonight to premiere ‘The Perfect Boss,’ an original movie staring both Jamie Luner (ex-Liza Colby, “All My Children”) and Linden Ashby (ex-Paul Hollingsworth, “Days of our Lives,” ex- Cameron Kirsten, “The Young and the Restless”)!

In a statement released a short time ago, Agnes Nixon, creator of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and a consultant at Prospect Park, speaks out on Prospect Park’s decision to replace the “AMC” head writing team. Lisa Connor and Chip Hayes have been named new co-head writers of the soap. In addition, Jessica Klein and Marin Gazzaniga have been named the new co-head writers of “One Life to Live.”

Snoop Lion returns to The OnLine Network’s “One Life to Live” beginning Tuesday, May 28. TOLN has released the following video highlighting Lion’s upcoming appearance(s) on the soap as part of his collaborative work in the creation of “Brand New Start,” the new theme song used by “OLTL,” sung by IZA, who is newly signed to Boss Lady Entertainment and Snoop Lion‘s Berhane Sound System label.

On Monday, June 24, CBS premieres the highly anticipated summer event drama series, “Under the Dome,” based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. With an order of 13 episodes, “Dome” follows the story of a small town that finds itself suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world without any explanations. Viewers will get to see how the town deals with the seclusion and their fight to get out.

CBS Daytime’s “The Price is Right” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” are joining forces with “The Young and the Restless” to pay tribute to the life of the late Jeanne Cooper, who for more than 39 years portrayed Katherine Chancellor on daytime’s most watched drama series.

NBC will be releasing a slew of new primetime programming this fall, all of which the network’s Chairman, Robert Greenblatt, hopes will be bolstered in February on the heels of the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. “The overriding strategy this year was to develop enough strong comedies and dramas to take advantage of the promotional heft of the Winter Olympics and devise two schedules for the upcoming season: one for fall and a slightly different one for midseason. I’m pleased to say that our development groups — headed by Jennifer Salke (scripted) and Paul Telegdy (alternative/reality) — really delivered,” Greenblatt said. “And aside from our Olympics planning, we also wanted to create better flow and compatibility on each night, and deploy our strongest lead-in (‘The Voice’) to maximum effect.”

“The Young and the Restless” will air a special tribute episode to the late Jeanne Cooper on Tuesday, May 28 (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT) on the CBS Television Network. Cast members and friends of the beloved actress, including Melody Thomas Scott, Christian Le Blanc, Tracey E. Bregman, Eric Braeden and “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” John McCook and Heather Tom, as well as family members such as her son, Corbin Bernsen, recently gathered on set to shoot a celebration of the life of their late friend, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 84. Cooper, the Emmy Award-winning actress who portrayed Katherine Chancellor for more than 39 years, is the show’s longest-running cast member.

Like “All My Children” co-star Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt) before him, Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward) has posted a message on his Facebook page discussing the “AMC” and “One Life to Live” episode order reduction by Prospect Park. In his message, the actor notes, “With the great number of episodes being offered for this year, I’m confident that we’ll all be satisfied with the many hours of viewing pleasure available to us all.
