Just two weeks after the dramatic season finale of “Dallas,” which found one of its lead characters killed after the car they were in exploded, TNT has opted to cancel the series after just three seasons, the network announced today.

With game shows “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right,” “The Talk” and daytime drama “The Bold and the Beautiful,” CBS Daytime continues to grow its audience year-over-year after just one week into the new television season (week of September 22-26) based on Nielsen Media Research live plus same day ratings data.

Maurice Benard

As previously reported, “General Hospital’s” Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) will be featured in the Sunday, October 5 telecast of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” which tracks past guests from “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to see what they’ve been up to since last appearing on the talk show. In the case of Benard, it was in 2004 when the soap star and his wife, Paula, opened up to Oprah Winfrey about the private hell they’ve lived for years with the revelation that the soap star was living with bipolar disorder, which, at its worst, made him violent and suicidal. Nearly 10 years since the episode aired, “Where Are They Now?” followed the actor backstage on the set of “GH,” while viewers are introduced to his loving family, which includes daughters Cailey, Heather and Cassidy, and his very own “Mini-Me,” son Joshua.

As previously reported, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is currently on location filming scenes in Amsterdam for upcoming episodes of the daytime drama series. In a soap opera twist, cast members from the soap met up with the stars of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” which reportedly now includes former “B&B” actress Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”; Kristen DiMera, “Days of our Lives”) and Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie Reed). Incidentally, because Bravo has yet to confirm either actresses participation in the series, it looks like the meeting of the former soapers (along with “Housewife” Lisa Vanderpump) and the cast of “B&B” has resulted in the “secret” being revealed!

Former soap star Eden Riegel (ex-Heather Stevens, “The Young and the Restless;” ex-Bianca Montgomery, “All My Children”) may have bowed out from the daytime world for the time being, but she’s still hard at work in front of the camera, this time on CBS’ primetime hit, “Criminal Minds.” And Soap Opera Network is bringing you the first sneak peek at the actress’ stint on the show, which also stars “Y&R’s” Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters)!

“General Hospital” star Maurice Benard has battled a slew of violent nemeses as his daytime alter ego, Sonny Corinthos, but perhaps his toughest battle of all has been his real-life struggle with bi-polar disorder. And now, in a special interview for “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” the actor is delving deep into details regarding his condition and how it’s impacted his life and career.
