The test results are in and the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OHP) has officially found that “Days of our Lives” actor Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) was legally drunk during last month’s near fatal car accident that resulted in girlfriend, actress Alyssa Tabit, to be flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown to undergo treatment. Smith received minor injuries and was taken to University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center. Per the newly released report, Smith’s blood alcohol test result was .093. The legal limit in Ohio is .08.

Eric Martsolf, Days of our Lives

It’s always a struggle for “Days of our Lives’” Brady (Eric Martsolf) to stay sober, but events that transpire this week on the NBC sudser push the character to the absolute limit: Following a slew of outlandish circumstances that only happen on soaps, the stressed out addict was just slapped with the news that his ex-lover, Theresa (Jen Lilley), is pregnant! But just how will Brady handle this latest curveball? And will he and Theresa ever be reunited with the (as of now unborn) child that Kristen (Eileen Davidson) secretly stole? Soap Opera Network spoke with Martsolf to get his thoughts!

While it had been widely reported to be the case, CBS finally confirmed on Monday, November 10, that Charles “Chuck” Pratt, Jr. has been hired on as the new head writer of “The Young and the Restless.” The official word came from “Y&R’s” Twitter page, which also noted that Pratt will receive a co-executive producer credit on the series. Pratt replaces Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante, “Y&R’s” current head writing team.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And things are looking pretty smoky this week for “Days of our Lives’” Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove), who find themselves on the precipice of a new direction after Hope unlocks the single dad’s secret past! But what does the shocking information mean for the couple’s future? Soap Opera Network spoke with Alfonso and Cosgrove to find out!

There may be a lot of “Days of our Lives” fans out there that believe Theresa Donovan is a brat that deserves every little bad thing that comes her way, but the latest plot development is a harsh punishment that her portrayer, Jen Lilley, says even those with the hardest of hearts may think crosses the line. Because even though Theresa creates her own troubles, having her embryo stolen by Kristen (Eileen Davidson) is quite a big blow!

While previously just a rumor, a rep for “General Hospital” confirms to Soap Opera Network that actor Brandon Barash will once again reprise the role of Johnny Zaccara on the daytime drama series. While a first airdate, nor what brings the character back to the canvas, is known at this time, we’re sure that any return of the bad boy to the soap will result in some much desired drama for several characters.

Susan Lucci portrayed the iconic role of Erica Kane on ABC’s “All My Children” for more than 41 years. Sadly, the character would last be seen on September 23, 2011, when a shot rang out during an event that brought Pine Valley’s most prominent citizens together. Despite Prospect Park bringing back the series for a short-lived online iteration in 2013, Lucci was unfortunately not part of the cast. Currently pulling double duty as host of the Investigation Discovery series, “Deadly Affairs,” and starring in Lifetime’s “Devious Maids,” Lucci recently told Soap Opera Network, during an Investigation Discovery/Glamour Magazine event honoring actresses Rosario Dawson, Marcia Gay Harden, Tamara Taylor and Stephanie March, that she remains proud of her daytime run as Erica Kane and that’s she’s having a great time with where her career has taken her since.

Lifetime announced last week that it wasn’t moving forward with a third season of “Witches of East End,” reports Deadline. The series followed a new generation of witches based on the book of the same name. Featuring former “Days of our Lives” and “Revenge” actor, Eric Winter, “Witches” ended its second season in early October.

Last week Bravo finally confirmed that “Days of our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless” actress Eileen Davidson had officially joined the cast of the network’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” As viewers get ready to watch all the drama unfold between Davidson and her co-stars, which includes former soap star Lisa Rinna (“DAYS,” “Melrose Place”), TV Guide Magazine has an exclusive look at Davidson’s home.
