Who says daytime soaps are dead? In 2015, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” and NBC’s “Days of our Lives” all placed among 2015’s top searched non-reality TV shows on Yahoo! In fact, outside of “The Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones,” all three dramas placed in the top five on the search giant’s year-end list.

“The Young and the Restless'” Steve Burton is sticking around for at least another year as Dylan McAvoy, reports CBS Soaps In Depth. “I’ve re-signed for a year, and I’m very happy!” Burton tells the magazine.

With a slew of soap weddings under her belt, a run at playing “crazy” and nearly a decade of daytime experience between “The Young and the Restless” and “All My Children,” a back-from-the-dead storyline is no big thang for “Y&R’s” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson). Except for when the back-from-the-dead character happens to be her alter ego’s kid-killing husband, and that same guy’s real-life recast happens to be one of the most talked about soap events of the year! Since it was announced earlier this month that Billy Miller (ex-Billy Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”) would officially be joining the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” in the contract role of Jason Morgan, previously portrayed by Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy, “Y&R”) after months of rumors and speculation, the three time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor will finally show his face on the Wednesday, October 1 episode of the daytime drama series, it was revealed today by head writer Ron Carlivati and actress Michelle Stafford (Nina Clay) on Twitter.

On Wednesday, October 1, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” welcomes actor Scott Elrod to the cast as Joe Clark, Avery’s (Jessica Collins) ex-husband.

In a newly released promo, the network touts the actor/character as being tall, dark and restless. Of course, “the fun is just beginning” and Elrod can’t wait to take on Genoa City and, more importantly, confront Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), who began an affair with his legal eagle ex all those years ago, especially since Dylan had initially suspected Clark for possibly having a role in the stalking of Avery earlier this year.

It’s been almost eight months since “The Young and the Restless’” Adam Newman was declared dead following a horrific showdown and subsequent car crash with Billy Abbott. On today’s episode of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) admitted to friend Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) that she’s looking forward to a bright future ahead for her and her husband, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), which includes the possibility of her having a baby with Genoa City’s top cop. “It used to be all about my career, getting ahead and proving myself, but once I married Paul, things changed. I want us to create something together. A testament to our love… I just hope it’s not too late!”

Though “The Young and the Restless’” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman) has been nominated for four Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy awards in the past, this fifth nomination isn’t any less special. In fact, she says it’s always an honor to be recognized for hard work. “It’s always so thrilling, and it’s always an exciting, pleasant, flattering thing,” she enthuses. “I’ve gotten texts and emails and Facebook messages, and it really is so, so lovely. You really feel like it’s your birthday but even more so. Everybody professionally and personally comes out. And it’s so, so heartwarming.”

After her daughter died last year as a result of a hit-and-run, a desperate Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will attempt everything in her power to have another child with Billy Abbott (David Tom), even going so far as to drug and “seduce” the married man into having sex with her. The question is, is it a “sinful seduction” or an outright rape? In a newly released promo for next week’s episodes of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the series calls what Chloe is doing to get her hands on Billy’s crown jewels (pun intended) as a sinful seduction, but visually it’s clear that Billy isn’t even conscious for Chloe’s plan. Meanwhile, Billy is also unknowingly already dealing with another set of baby drama. It turns out that his wife, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), is pregnant! The only problem is that it could be Billy’s, or it could be Stitch’s (Sean Carrigan). As for Ian Ward (Ray Wise), he better not get in the way of his son Dylan (Steve Burton) when it comes to the woman he loves, or he’ll end up paying the ultimate price.
