The Young and the Restless

It’s been a whopping 24 years since Elizabeth Dennehy graced the daytime stage as “Guiding Light’s” Christina ‘Blake’ Thorpe Marler, and she’s finally ready to get back into soap operas. But this time, she’s headed to “The Young and the Restless’” Genoa City!

The Young and the Restless

Soap Opera Network has learned that today marked the end of Erin Chambers’ stint as Melanie Daniels on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” At the end of today’s episode, the character decided to drop the sexual assault charges against Adam Newman (Michael Muhney) after speaking with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), who made it clear to Melanie that there was no way Adam could have assaulted her.

All My Children, Jake Tapper, Julia Barr, Cady McClain

As Soap Opera Network first reported in mid-June, CNN’s Jake Tapper (“The Lead with Jake Tapper”) will be appearing on The OnLine Network’s “All My Children,” portraying the role of TV investigative reporter Spencer Phillips. Tapper was originally scheduled to appear on the Monday, August 19 episode (prior to the announcement that each weeks episodes would be released on Mondays), but TOLN announced today that his appearance has been moved up. He will now appear on one of the episodes scheduled for release on Monday, August 12 via Hulu, Hulu Plus, iTunes and iTunes Canada.

As previously reported, “The Bachelor’s” Jake Pavelka will be making a return visit to CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” as the Forrester Pilot. When we first reported the news on Soap Opera Network, a first airdate hadn’t been revealed but we can now report that the sometimes actor is scheduled to appear on the Friday, August 9 episode of the daytime drama series. It’s understood he shares scenes with Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan Forrester) and Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan).

Shortly after it was announced that Kelly Sullivan would be departing ABC’s “General Hospital,” as a result of the soap opting to write her characters (Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri) off the canvas, the actress stated on her Facebook page, “I am not returning to ‘GH’ after August. This is not a contract issue, I have been written off the show.” It was unclear at the time whether August meant airdate or tape date. Things have since become clear as the actress has revealed on her Twitter page that she will be taping her last episode of the daytime drama series today, which means her last airdate will be sometime in August.

Shortly after winning his second consecutive Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series last month, “Days of our Lives” star, Chandler Massey, announced plans to depart the NBC Daytime drama series after portraying the role of Will Horton for the past four years. The actor stated he wants to go back to school and he wouldn’t be able to do that while under contract with the soap.

In an exclusive interview with TV Guide’s Michael Logan, former “Big Brother” star and current CBS.com host, Jeff Schroeder, revealed that’s he’s scheduled to make a return visit to CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” in scenes set to air Tuesday, August 27. The reality star and actor was last seen on the soap in October 2009, alongside real-life love and “Brother” contestant Jordan Lloyd. Schroeder will appear in scenes involving the production of Room 8, the show-within-a-show starring Maya (Karla Mosley) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), per the publication.
