THIS WEEK ON: GENERAL HOSPITAL

On Tuesday, October 11, Lisa’s “ghost” looms heavy over Port Charles. Patrick puts together an interesting birthday celebration for his wife. The dark cloud following Maxie threatens Patrick and Robin’s celebration but on Thursday, October 13 her bad luck appears to be the least of their problems. Lisa eliminates an obstacle. Alexis and Kristina butt heads. Kristina receives shocking news. Dante listens in as Sonny has a revealing conversation with Kate. Kate and Sonny end up very close as they work together to get Michael out of a jam. Sonny surprises Kate on Friday, October 14.

The Inside Story: My Addiction
Lucky sets Luke straight about where he stands with the family. Does Luke have a secret weapon to break through the wall his family has put up? Luke purposely interrupts Tracy and Anthony on Wednesday, October 12. Lucky and Ethan discuss Luke and addiction. Elizabeth arranges a family get together for herself, Lucky and the children. Lucky pulls no punches as he calls Elizabeth out on her true intentions  – and dashes any hopes she has of them ever being a family again. Lucky makes a decision. Matt asks Elizabeth if she would be his date to the boat party (in his honor) after being turned down by Maxie. Lucky confides in Ethan. Lulu continues to drown her sorrows in alcohol.

A Closer Look: Trick or Treat
Jason and Sam’s fun in paradise is threatened by a foe – and a friend of sorts on Monday, October 10. Franco’s psychosis is evident as he continues his elaborate game. Desperate to reach Jason herself, Carly does her best to persuade Shawn to take her and Josslyn with him to Hawaii. Someone lurks outside of Jason and Sam’s shack as they make love. Carly and Shawn arrive in Hawaii. Jason finds a curious item in the shack. Franco delights in his shenanigans.

GH ALERTS: WEEK OF OCTOBER 17, 2011

  • Steve’s announcement upsets Robin.
  • Matt and Elizabeth inch closer.

THIS WEEK ON: ONE LIFE TO LIVE

Clint tells Viki about his fight with Cord on Wednesday, October 12.  Viki wonders if Clint misses Kim. Clint, however, asks Viki if she is ready to start dating again. Jessica considers telling John the truth about Liam. Dani lies to Téa. And Nate once again tells Dani how sorry he is for hurting her on Friday, October 14.

The Inside Story: Guilty Until Proven Innocent
Téa walks in on a close moment between Todd and Blair on Monday, October 10. Todd contemplates turning himself in. Téa remembers happier times at the cabin. Starr tries to get Jack to confess. Blair’s pleas to Tomas fall on deaf ears. Jack has a run-in with Delphina. On Tuesday, October 11, Blair tells Jack she’s doesn’t believe his story. Téa and Todd wonder if Rex pulled the trigger. Bo is forced to question Rex, who maintains his innocence. Shane threatens to kill Jack if he doesn’t admit to his role in Gigi’s death on Wednesday, October 12. Blair checks on Todd. Shane has something to tell Bo and Rex. By Friday, October 14, Téa keeps Dani in the dark. Blair leans on Bo to press charges against Shane for threatening Jack. Téa tries to cut a deal with Bo regarding Todd. And Rex and Shane have a father/son moment.

A Closer Look: Gun Shy
Kim confides to her friend that she needs to take care of Roxy and Echo, and later threatens them both. On Monday, October 10, Rex pleads with Delphina to help him. On Tuesday, October 13, Rex learns what Roxy and Echo are up to. Shane discovers the gun, and remembers the night of Victor’s murder. Aubrey learns Cutter never turned the gun into the cops, and ends their relationship. Echo and Rex fear the worst when they can’t find the gun. Cutter schemes to get the Buchanan money back, and tries to blackmail Rama into helping him. Aubrey makes a confession to Bo. On Thursday, October 13, Kim confesses everything to Cutter, and gives him leverage over the Buchanans. Rama comforts Aubrey. By Friday, October 14, Rama threatens Cutter, and confronts Kim. Echo nearly makes a confession to Rex. And Kim’s friend awakens from her coma.

  • Victor’s killer is finally revealed.

Former ‘One Life’ Star Doris Belack Dies

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Original “One Life to Live” cast member Doris Belack passed away Monday of natural causes in Manhattan. Belack potrayed Anna Wolek Craig on the show from 1968-77. She was 85 years old.

Belack had a lengthy television and film career spanning nearly 50 years. Her first TV appearance was in 1951 in the series “Treasury Men in Action.” Four years later she performed alongside Sidney Poitier on the record “Poetry of the Negro,” which was produced by her husband of 65 years, Philip Rose (who passed away on May 31).

In the early 1960s, Belack appeared in “East Side/West Side,” and later guest starred in two episodes of “The Patty Duke Show.”  She joined the cast of the new soap “One Life to Live” when it premiered in July 1968, playing Anna Wolek, a member of daytime’s first Polish-American middle class family. Belack would stay with the show until 1977, at which time the role of Anna was recast with Kathleen Maguire from 1977-78, and Phyllis Behar from 1978-82, when the Anna was written off the show. In 1970, Belack made a guest appearance as Anna on “All My Children.” Other soap roles included “Another World,” “The Edge of Night,” and “The Doctors.”

After leaving “One Life to Live,” Belack appeared in an episode of “Barney Miller” as Fish’s wife Bernice,  Libby Levine in the 1977 feature film “Looking Up,” which also starred her former “OLTL” co-star and onscreen sister-in-law Marilyn Chris, ex-Wanda Wolek.

Following roles in TV movies “The Last Tenant,” The Jilting of Granny Weatherall,” and “The Black Marble” (again alongside Chris), s”We’re Fighting Back” and “Hanky Panky,” she landed one of her most memorable film roles, playing soap opera producer Rita Marshall in “Tootsie.” Around the same time, she had a starring role on the short-lived CBS comedy series “Baker’s Dozen.”

Through the 1980s, Belack’s career continued to flourish with parts in the films “The Cradle Will Fall,” “Sessions,” “The Hearst and Davis Affair,” “Almost Partners,” “*batteries not included,” “She-Devil,” “Fast Forward,” “Hostage,” “Splash, Too,” and “The Luckiest Man in the World.” She also guest starred in numerous television series, including “Family Ties,” “The Cosby Show,” “Cagney and Lacey,” “Remington Steele,” “The Golden Girls,” “Mr. Belvedere,” “Off the Rack,” “Scarecrow and Mrs. King,” “Mary,” “Emerald Point N.A.S.,” “Hometown,” “The Equalizer,” “Baby Boom,” and “Anything But Love.”

Belack stayed action in television and film even into the 1990s, starring in the  short-lived ABC primetime series “Laurie Hill,” and equally brief CBS comedy “Family Album.” She also co-starred as Dr. Catherine Tomsky in the 1991 Bill Murray feature film “What About Bob?,” and as Dr. Roberts in 1994′s “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.” Other film appearances include “Opportunity Knocks,” “Absolute Strangers,” “What’s Your Sign?,” “Krippendorf’s Tribe,” “The Odd Couple II,” and “Fail Safe.” Belack also guest-starred in a number of TV series during the ’90s including “Mathnet,” “Lifestories: Families in Crisis,” “Picket Fences,” “Chicago Hope,” “Ellen,” “Public Morals,” “Prince Street,” “Dellaventura,” “Touched By an Angel,” “Cosby,” and “New York Undercover.”

In 1999, she provided the voices of Mayor Tippi Dink and teacher Ms. Wingo in “Doug’s 1st Movie,” after having voiced the characters throughout the animated series’ television run. Also, between 1990 and 2001, she played Judge Margaret Barry in ten episodes of “Law & Order” and two episodes of “Law & Order: SVU” from 2000-01.

Other TV and film credits include the short film “The Lovers” and the television series “Now & Again,” “Madigan Men,”  and “Everwood.” Belack’s last television appearance was in a 2003 episode of “Sex and the City,” and her final film roles were in “Prime” (2005), which starred Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep; “Delirious” (2006 ), starring Steve Buscemi, and “Arranged” (2008).

Belack was also voiced characters in the video games “True Crime: New York City” and “Grand Theft Auto IV,” where she voiced the character of Maureen McReary. And between 1960 and 1990 she appeared on stage in productions of “The Cemetery Club,” “Cheaters,” “The Trip Back Down,” “Bad Habits,” “Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” “The Ninety Day Mistress,” “Nathan Weinstein, Mystic, Connecticut,” “The Heroine,” and “Semi-Detached.”

A joint public memorial for both Belack and Rose will be held on Monday, October 17, at Noon ET at the Ambassador Theater in New York City.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Todd wakes up in a delirious fever which worries Blair. Blair’s afraid to leave Todd, so she asks for Téa’s help. Téa agrees, but must first deal with Tomas’s arraignment.

While they wait, Todd reveals what really happened on the docks. Blair’s surprised, knowing that Tomas is taking the rap. As she tries to reassure Todd, he passes out.

Starr presses Tomas for information about her father. He stonewalls. Téa arrives and reveals Todd’s condition to Starr, who is emotional. James comforts her.

With Cord, Jessica subtly probes about the paternity test result she found in DV’s carrier. She has a crisis of conscience over not having told Natalie, Brody or John. Troubled, she goes to Ford’s to hand over the baby for the day. At EOD, she shows him the test results.

Tina goes to Viki’s and runs into Cord. They get into it and after a series of accusations, they get to a near-kiss. Will they?

  • Blair and Todd remember happier times.
  • Starr grows more suspicious of Jack’s story.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Blair finds Todd in Viki’s cabin in desperate need of medical attention. He refuses to allow her to call a doctor.

Téa tries to get Tomas to admit that he didn’t shoot Irene. Natalie arrives and tells them the blood evidence is being analyzed and suspects Tomas’ story won’t hold up. John tries to get Tomas to tell the truth about what happened on the docks. Natalie gets the results for the test run on the blood. The cops give Tomas one more chance to change his story but Tomas refuses, and they throw him in jail.

Starr tells James her plan for him to help clear her father. After James goes, Starr is worried about Todd and tries to get the guard to find out if there’s any news. John goes to Dorian’s to see if he can find out any clue to Todd’s whereabouts.

Jessica almost tells Brody what she discovered from the paternity test. They have a slightly conciliatory moment. Natalie returns and Brody expresses optimism that soon the troubles between them and Jessica will be over, and everything will be perfect in their family.
