‘The Talk’ to Air Reruns Beginning Friday Due to Writers Strike

CBS' "The Talk" will begin airing reruns on Friday, May 12, after shutting down production last week due to the ongoing writers strike.

After shutting down production last week due to the ongoing writers strike, the final pre-strike all-new episode of “The Talk” will air on Thursday, May 11, Soap Opera Network has learned. The show will begin airing reruns starting Friday, May 12.

According to Deadline, “The Talk” stopped production as its staff includes striking WGA writers. The show is expected to remain dark until the WGA (Writers Guild of America) and the AMPTP ( Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) resolve their contract issues.

Preempted today, May 9 and tomorrow, May 10 for CBS Sports coverage of the UEFA Champions League games, “The Talk” aired an all-new pre-taped episode on Monday, May 8 which featured Marcia Gay Harden (“So Help Me Todd”) and actresses Golda Rosheuvel and India Amarteifio. The final all-new pre-taped episode will air on Thursday, May 11 and includes Rose McIver (“Ghosts”) and Dania Ramirez as guests.

On Friday, May 12, the first rerun scheduled features director, producer and co-writer Kenya Barris discussing his film “You People” and actor Kevin Alejandro from “Fire Country.” The episode originally aired on January 27, 2023.

Currently in its 13th season, “The Talk” is hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales and Sheryl Underwood.

The show airs weekdays on CBS.
