THE NUMBERS

Things were heating up in Genoa City during the week of November 13-17, 2023 as shown by the performance of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” (3.343 million), which added +168,000 viewers week-to-week and marked a new season high among Total Viewers and was the show’s best performance in the category in five months (since the week of June 26-30, 2023). In the unrounded demos, the series was on par with its recent performance in Women 18-49 (0.37 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.52 rating).

In more positive news for daytime’s most-watched drama series, the show managed to add +104,000 viewers compared to its performance three years earlier, a rare feat for a daytime program.

Speaking of rare increases, “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.862 million”) not only gained +66,000 viewers compared to one week earlier, but the show was up +9,000 viewers over the same week in 2021 and up another +107,000 viewers from its performance during the same week in 2020.

Seeing an increase of +61,000 and +39,000 viewers, respectively, the two half hours of “The Price is Right” (3.788 million / 4.327 million”) once again topped the daytime charts in Total Viewers. The second half-hour was up +19,000 viewers compared to its performance in 2021. Also seeing improvement week-to-week was the two half hours of “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.674 million / 2.293 million), up +15,000 and +34,000 viewers week-to-week.

As previously reported, “The Talk” (1.373 million) hit a new season high among Total Viewers, tied with “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.373 million). Among all network and syndicated daytime talk shows and news programs, “The View” (2.377 million) ranked No.1 in Households (1.61 rating), topping “Live with Kelly and Mark” (1.59 rating) and “TODAY 3rd Hour (1.30 rating).

  • “NBC News Daily” was broken out and amended on Wednesday, November 15. The episode was retitled to “NBC News Daily – ND” and will not factor into the show’s weekly or season average. The show’s weekly average is based on four days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday).
