ABC’s “Modern Family” is about to get a bump up in coolness: “The Talk” panelist and host of the CW’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Aisha Tyler is set to guest star on the popular sitcom later this season!

With its lineup consisting of soaps “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” game shows “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” and talker “The Talk,” CBS Daytime posted double-digit growth during the fourth quarter in viewers compared to the year-ago period, while each series was up or even in Women 25-54 and Women 18-49. In fact, “Y&R” was first in both key women demos.

Despite facing increased competition via ABC’s growing “General Hospital” in most markets, CBS’ “The Talk” celebrated Thanksgiving week (week of November 25 through 29, 2013) by generating its largest ever weekly audience in total viewers and capped its best-ever November sweep in viewers and the Women 25-54 sales demographic, according to Nielsen Live Plus Same Day ratings data.

With its combination of soaps, game shows and a talk show, the CBS Daytime lineup consisting of “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Let’s Make a Deal,” “The Price is Right” and “The Talk” posted growth during the November 2013 sweeps period, according to Nielsen Live Plus Sam Day ratings data.

Goblins and witches and ghosts, oh my! And no, we’re not talking about the millions of children who’ll be cavorting around as such on All Hallow’s Eve next week. We’re talking about the stars of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Price Is Right,” “The Talk” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” as all five shows are featuring Halloween themed episodes on Thursday, October 31, complete with fun and creepy costumes!

It’s not hard to laugh, but across the board, daytime stars agree that it’s not easy to be funny! That being said, some of the industry’s most popular talent — “The Price Is Right’s” Drew Carey, “Let’s Make a Deal’s” Wayne Brady, and “The Talk’s” Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood — certainly make it look easy to be hilarious day in and day out. Noticing the top-notch humor present in their daytime lineup, CBS decided to gather those said stars together at Hollywood’s legendary venue, The Comedy Store, to perform an evening of standup comedy benefitting a cancer charity. The result: CBS Daytime After Dark, Stand Up to Cancer — a fun event definitely worth smiling about!

CBS announced yesterday that “The Price Is Right” will be introducing a brand new pricing game called “Do the Math” during its season premiere week (Monday, September 23 through Friday, September 27), but that’s not all the longest-running talk show can boast about: According to the official press release, several stars from “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” will be appearing on the game show all season long! There’s no word yet on who will appear and when, so stay tuned for details as they develop!

While the soaps are all up year-to-year in total viewers and key sales demos, CBS’ “The Talk” is also showing signs of solid growth. Last week (week of July 15-19, 2013), the daytime talk show, hosted by Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen and Sheryl Underwood, recorded its largest weekly audience ever as the program averaged 2.62 million viewers.
