Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for barbeques, catching up with friends and working on that (long overdue) tan, but being soap fans and all, it’s only natural to squeeze in a little soap-worthy entertainment, as well. Luckily, Lifetime Movie Network knows this and chose tonight to premiere ‘The Perfect Boss,’ an original movie staring both Jamie Luner (ex-Liza Colby, “All My Children”) and Linden Ashby (ex-Paul Hollingsworth, “Days of our Lives,” ex- Cameron Kirsten, “The Young and the Restless”)!

In a statement released a short time ago, Agnes Nixon, creator of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and a consultant at Prospect Park, speaks out on Prospect Park’s decision to replace the “AMC” head writing team. Lisa Connor and Chip Hayes have been named new co-head writers of the soap. In addition, Jessica Klein and Marin Gazzaniga have been named the new co-head writers of “One Life to Live.”

Snoop Lion returns to The OnLine Network’s “One Life to Live” beginning Tuesday, May 28. TOLN has released the following video highlighting Lion’s upcoming appearance(s) on the soap as part of his collaborative work in the creation of “Brand New Start,” the new theme song used by “OLTL,” sung by IZA, who is newly signed to Boss Lady Entertainment and Snoop Lion‘s Berhane Sound System label.

Many of you have probably not heard the full theme song used for “All My Children” titled “We Are The Love” by Imaginary Friend, but no one has heard the full “One Life to Live” theme titled “Brand New Start” by IZA, who is newly signed to Boss Lady Entertainment and Snoop Lion’s Berhane Sound System label, until now!

With both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” rocking it out on their new TOLN online home as well as having quite a fan following on social media sites, it’s no surprise that the shows also have an incredibly fun Pinterest page! Like “All My Children” co-star Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt) before him, Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward) has posted a message on his Facebook page discussing the “AMC” and “One Life to Live” episode order reduction by Prospect Park. In his message, the actor notes, “With the great number of episodes being offered for this year, I’m confident that we’ll all be satisfied with the many hours of viewing pleasure available to us all. We, as a cast and production team, are extremely proud of our beloved shows airing, and can’t be more grateful to all of you for your overwhelming expressions of excitement and support for all we’re doing to bring these iconic shows back for you to enjoy. As previously reported, The OnLine Network has released a recap video that hopes to bring viewers up to speed on the goings on in Llanview on the network’s “One Life to Live.” At nearly 30 minutes in length, “Who’s Who in Llanview” is available online via Hulu.com (free) or Hulu Plus (via subscription).

The Online Network (TOLN) has plans to catch all fans up on their favorite shows, “All My Children” and “One Life To Live.”

The revival of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” could be just the start of cancelled network shows finding new homes in other places. Not only will “Arrested Development,” a popular comedy Fox cancelled in 2006, continue on Netflix starting Sunday, May 26, but ABC’s recently cancelled ‘Body of Proof’ may get a similar second chance!

The onscreen sparks between “One Life to Live’s” Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan) and Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth) have definitely been worth noticing, but could the actors truly see their characters forming a meaningful relationship? Or will their fling be over in a hot second? We caught up with the pair to find out!

Former “One Life to Live” star Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston Wilde; ex-Loren Tate, “Hollywood Heights”) has announced on her YouTube Channel that on Tuesday, June 4 she will be releasing her debut EP. While no title has been announced at this time, the actress and singer released her debut music video directed by Robert Adamson (Noah Newman, “The Young and the Restless”) on February 28, entitled “Flow.” The song, which is expected to be part of Underwood’s EP, features appearances by “General Hospital‘s” Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome) and Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) as well as ” Heights” co-star from “Heights,”Ashley Holliday (Melissa Sanders).

With weekly episodes of “One Life to Live” now reduced to just two originals (down from the previously scheduled four), Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network has released a revised breakdown schedule of episodes for the weeks of May 27 and June 3, 2013.

In a video highlighting their YouTube Channel, TOLNSoaps, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network has the cast of “All My Children” talking about all the handy little features and noteworthy items.

On Thursday, May 16, Prospect Park announced its plan to reduce the episode orders of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” from the previously planned 168 original episodes per year (excluding Friday “MORE” shows) to just 110 episodes. Fans remain divided on whether the stated reasons behind the change from four original episodes to just two per week was in fact due to the binge viewing the company claimed in their press release or some bigger reason(s) we’re all not privy to, however, the company does admit they can quickly change things should the demand catch up to the supply.

For the first time ever fans of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” will be able to watch a legal copy of the premiere episodes of both soaps, which launched on Monday, April 29 via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes. Just a short time ago, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network uploaded the premiere episodes on its TOLNSoaps YouTube page for the viewing pleasure of fans all around the world (ie. no region cap). “TOLNSoaps on Youtube is a hub for all fans of the shows, a place to watch Behind the Scenes content, Recaps, Previews and Interviews through a platform that allows for free streaming on all devices including mobile. Subscriptions to the TOLNSoaps channel on Youtube is free,” read a notice sent out to fans signed up for the TOLN newsletter.

Jessica ‘Jessie’ Malakouti made her soap opera debut last week on “One Life to Live” as a new character named “Dusky,” a singer looking to catch her big break at Blair Cramer’s (Kassie DePaiva) new nightclub, Shelter. It remains unclear whether it was done in anticipation of the recent schedule change and the subsequent carriage loss by FX Canada, but we can report that both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” are now available for download on the Canadian iTunes store. According to both the “AMC” and “OLTL” iTunes Canada pages, the shows were first listed on iTunes Canada on Monday, May 13. Episodes are currently priced at $9.99 for multi-pass access or $1.99 per episode.

As a result of Prospect Park’s announcement that it had reduced the amount of episodes aired each week of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” FX Canada has announced that it has dropped both soaps from its lineup with reruns of “30 Rock” taking over the timeslot effective Monday, May 20.

ABC formally announced its new lineup of shows on Tuesday at an upfront presentation held at New York City’s Avery Fisher Hall, and Paul Lee, the ABC Entertainment Group president, called series like the network’s new Steven Spielberg-produced drama, “Lucky 7,” soaps! And he revealed much more about the new shows in a special press conference in which Soap Opera Network took part.

ABC has consistently brought soap-worthy programming to primetime (“Desperate Housewives” and “Revenge,” to name but two), and the schedule for this fall is no different: Intermixing with popular mainstay shows like “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” come thirteen brand new shows, a few of which may spur “General Hospital” and other daytime soaps to come to mind! And Wendy Moniz (ex-Mayor Finn, “One Life to Live,” ex-Dinah Marler, “Guiding Light”) strengthens the soap/primetime connection with a role in the new drama, “Betrayal.” Read on to get the exciting details!
