"Seeing my cast come in one-by-one. Seeing David Canary, seeing Cady McClain, seeing Jill Larson, Debbi Morgan...it just made it all the more real," says Ginger Smith, executive producer, "All My Children," in the newly released "First Day of School" video by iTunes set to music by Raphael Lake/Ben Fisher with their song "Light It Up." The EP and her cast members comment on the show returning to production nearly six weeks after it was first announced by…

THE GREAT DEBATE: Prospect Park Defends Its Sexier and Edgier Content

Since it was first announced that Prospect Park's The OnLine Network was looking to once again revive "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," after they were canceled by ABC in 2011, it has been said that the company planned to take the shows into a sexier and edgier environment. In a recent teaser released by iTunes for its launch of the two soaps, Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord, "OLTL") is heard saying, "My agent said, 'What do you want in this…

LIFE AFTER ABC: ‘AMC’ and ‘OLTL’ Actors Dish On Their New and Former Bosses

As the old saying goes, a happy employee is a productive employee. And that must be a mantra Prospect Park believes in. According to the actors who have signed on to the serial dramas, “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” the production company — headed by Jeff Kwatinetz and Richard Frank — has batted a thousand when it comes to being respectfully in charge. And the end result, as the performers preview, is pure magic.

‘AMC’s’ Cady McClain on New Writers: They Are Killin’ It

As previously reported, "All My Children" has named Marlene McPherson and Elizabeth Snyder as co-head writers. What's so significant about their hiring is that this marks the first time since 2003 that a daytime soap opera has had two females leading its writing team. The last time was with Ellen Weston and Carolyn Culliton co-head writing CBS' "Guiding Light." Prior to that was in 2002, when Millee Taggert and Culliton also co-head wrote for "GL."

Hulu and iTunes Deal Kills TOLN/The Online Network Viewing?

Per recent comments made by TV Line's Matt Webb Mitovich, it looks like Prospect Park's plans to air new episodes of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" via its pending TOLN.com and TheOnLineNetwork.com web portal may not be happening after all. This is apparently as a result of today's announcement that Hulu and its Hulu Plus subdivision, along with Apple's iTunes, will be the digital places to be plugged (or unplugged if you have wireless…
