“The Young and the Restless'” Scott Elrod (Joe Clark) will be playing an Army doctor on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” which returns with all-new episodes beginning Thursday, February 11 after airing its winter finale last month.
Beginning Monday, November 30, actor Donnell Turner is joining the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” in the contract role of Curtis, who proves to be a valuable asset to a scheming Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig).
Fans of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder” are likely going through withdrawals while anticipating the return of their favorite TGIT dramas, as evidenced by a newly released promo from the network with stars from all three shows reminding viewers of the Thursday, January 29 return of each.
NBC recently announced premiere dates for its upcoming midseason dramas “Allegiance, “A.D.,” “The Slap” and “Odyssey,” while also slotting the second season of summer hit “Night Shift” and comedies “One Big Happy” and “Undateable,” which also aired in the summer and is returning for a second season. “The Blacklist,” starring James Spader, will move from Mondays to Thursdays, where it will anchor an all-drama block on the network for the first time in decades. The lineup will compete against ABC’s all-drama lineup consisting of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” which have all helped the network win the Thursday crown in the key Adults 18-49 sales demo so far this season.
On Tuesday, December 9, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) announced the nominees for the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards. For the first time since at least 1994, when the category was first recognized, no actor or actress from a daytime drama series was nominated in the Outstanding Actor or Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series following the organizations decision not to include the categories this year. Representatives for the NAACP have yet to officially comment on the matter at press time.
It should come as no surprise that CBS has handed full season episode orders to all four of its new dramas, including the #1 and #2 new series of the season, “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Scorpion,” Sunday’s #1 scripted broadcast, “Madam Secretary,” and the time period-winning suspense thriller “Stalker.”
If you’re a fan of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Castle,” “Modern Family,” “The Middle,” “The Goldbergs” or “Black-ish” you’re in luck: ABC has extended the episode orders for each of the 7 series beyond the typical 22 episodes. Unfortunately, if you got yourself entwined in “Manhattan Love Story” you’re in for a big disappointment: ABC has canceled the series after just three airings.
One is a drama, and one is a comedy, but both “How To Get Away With Murder” and “Black-ish” are proving to be quite popular additions to ABC’s lineup — so much so, the alphabet network has ordered additional episodes of each.
In a newly released promo, ABC is touting Thursdays as Thank God It’s Thursday (T.G.I.T.) with “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” which were all created by writer/producer Shonda Rhimes.
