After attracting nearly a quarter of a billion viewers over the course of 17 nights, while airing the Olympics from London (July 27-August 12), NBC returned to earth last night as viewers tuned out of the network despite it premiering new series “Stars Earn Stripes,” and the second season premiere of “Grimm.”

Nic Robuck (ex-James Ford, “One Life to Live”) has landed his first feature film role, reports ​ABC Soaps In Depth​. The actor has signed on to play the lead in the film “A Dark Plan.”

For the past couple of years NBC’s “Days of our Lives” has been holding its “A Day of Days” fan event at Universal Studios CityWalk, where fans of the drama series could meet and great some of their favorite stars and get signed autographs. Unfortunately, this year the network has decided not to continue that event, and instead opted to branch it out a little bit (similar to how ABC canceled Super Soap Weekend, which turned into the Soap Nation Tour). Earlier this year, in a posting on the soaps operas Facebook page, the network said, “Ask and you shall receive! NBC has heard your requests and we are taking our yearly fan event on the road! Instead of holding our event at Universal City in California, members of the ‘Days of our Lives’ cast will be traveling to a few cities around the country. Dates and cities to be announced soon!” That “soon” is now.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you’re likely already aware that Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky Spencer, “General Hospital”) is joining “Days of our Lives” as a recast Eric Brady. What you didn’t know was his first airdate, or his characters new holy profession. Say what?

In an exclusive interview with ​TV Guide​’s Michael Logan, Bradley Bell, Executive Producer and Head Writer of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” has revealed that he plans on recasting the role of Ridge Forrester now that Ronn Moss is departing the series after filming his final scenes later today.

John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis, “Days of our Lives”) was the last to learn that daughter Jennifer Aniston (“Friends”) was engaged to long-time boyfriend Justin Theroux, reports Celebuzz.

While Soap Opera Digest in its newest issue lists their last airdate being Wednesday, August 15, both Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux) and Sarah Brown (Madison James) will actually find their characters departing the world of the living much sooner.

Monday, August 13 was the day to watch ABC’s “Good Morning America” as the morning show revealed the dance partners for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” dubbed the “All Star” edition. With Kelly Monaco’s (Sam McCall, “General Hospital”) former dance partner Alec Mazo (pictured left, with Monaco) currently appearing in “Dance Temptation,” with Edyta Sliwinska, and no longer appearing on the series (he last appeared during season nine), the actress has been assigned to Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who returns for his third season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former “All My Children” starlet Alicia Minshew (ex-Kendall Hart) has landed a major role in the new film “Desires of the Heart,” which began production in Savannah, GA on Monday, August 13.

Citing poor financial conditions, ABC affiliate WKDH, located in Houston, Mississippi and serving the Columbus, Tupelo, and West Point television markets, will cease operations at the end of this month.
