After over two decades of playing “General Hospital’s” Jason Morgan, beloved soap star Steve Burton decided to walk away from Port Charles for a break from the spotlight — only to turn around and join “The Young and the Restless” as Dylan McAvoy a few months later! Soap Opera Network caught up with the daytime vet during a special “Y&R” TVGN launch party, and he opened up about changing networks as well as fast becoming right at home in Genoa City.
The summer is looking good for “The Young and the Restless,” especially with this latest news: Fan favorite Michael Graziadei (Daniel Romalotti) is returning to the sudser for four episodes!
In addition to the previously noted on air promo touting the launch of “The Young and the Restless’” same day airings on TVGN beginning Monday, July 1 at 7:00 PM ET/PT, the network has also announced special programming that will surely help provide ample tune in.
On Monday, June 17 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) will host a one-hour special entitled “The Young and the Restless On-Set: inFANity,” which will provide viewers with a behind the scenes look at the creation of Genoa City. The special will also include interviews with cast members Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers Newman), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore), Jess Walton (Jill Abbott), Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell), Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy) and Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman). In addition to hosting duties, TVGN indicates that St. John will also be part of the featured interviews.
Parenting team Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) on “The Young and the Restless” are about to get a little surprise: Their daughter, Faith, is going to be a whole new person!
The little girl’s current portrayer, Alyvia Alyn Lind (pictured top, with Morrow and Case), is reportedly unavailable for an upcoming summer storyline, so the show has replaced her with young actress McKenna Grace (pictured right). A rep for the show confirms that Lind’s final appearance will be on Tuesday, July 2, while Grace’s first appearance in the recurring role as Nick and Sharon’s small wonder will be on Friday, July 12.
Lind played a young Emily Thorne in ABC’s “Revenge.” Grace has appeared in the series “Crash & Bernstein.”
News that “The Young and the Restless’” Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) passed away this morning has rocked the entertainment community, and the beloved actress’ colleagues have responded with an outpour of memories, loving words and final farewells via Twitter. Soap Opera Network has rounded up all of the sentiments written so far, which include kind words from her “Y&R” co-stars and beyond.
It’s only been a few weeks since Melissa Ordway took over for Emme Rylan as “The Young and the Restless’” Abby, and the actress already feels right at home. That’s partly because the cast has been together a lot celebrating the show’s 40th Anniversary, but it’s also because, as the actress puts it, the entire cast is just like a real family.
“The experience has been amazing,” the former “Hollywood Heights” star reveals. “The first scene I had was with Eric [Braeden, Victor Newman] and Joshua [Morrow, Nicholas Newman] — basically my whole family. I was so intimated, because I had watched the show forever, so I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! I have a scene with all of these people that I’ve grown up watching?!” But they were all so lovely and kind, and they made me feel right at home immediately.”
As previously reported, cast members from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” appeared on yesterday’s edition of “Marie.” In honor of the soaps 40th anniversary, the Marie Osmond hosted talker paid tribute to the memory of “Y&R” co-creator and head writer, William J. Bell, and highlighted the longest-running feud in daytime soap history – Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton).
On the Monday, April 1 edition of daytime talker “Marie,” Marie Osmond is joined by the cast of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their show.
“Marie” airs Weekdays at 12:00 PM ET/11:00 AM CT on Hallmark Channel.

On this special episode, Marie celebrates 40 years of the Daytime Emmy® Award winning soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” Marie is first joined by one of the most tumultuous couples on the show, Melody Thomas Scott and Peter Bergman, who play Nikki Newman and Jack Abbott. Melody talks about her journey working on the set for 34 years and her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis while Peter discusses his path to joining “The Young and the Restless.” Next, the soap opera’s “golden couple,” Michelle Stafford and Joshua Morrow, who play Phyllis and Nick Newman, take the stage with Marie. Michelle and Joshua talk about their start on the show twenty years ago and how their personal lives have changed dramatically since then. Then, Lauralee Bell and Doug Davidson, who play the show’s sweethearts Christine Blair and Paul Williams, sit down and chat with Marie. Lauralee dishes about her return to the show and what it was like being the creators’ daughter while Doug reveals what it was like romancing the bosses’ daughter on screen. Finally, Jeanne Cooper who plays Katherine Chancellor and Jess Walton, whose character is Jill Foster Abbott, are the last of the cast to join Marie. The two discuss their characters rivalry and their favorite on-screen battles. Plus, the cast answers their fans most pressing questions about what goes on in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Marie closes the episode with a tribute to William J. Bell, the co-creator and head writer of “The Young and the Restless.”
CBS’ acclaimed daytime show, “The Talk,” joined the long list of outlets celebrating “The Young and the Restless’” 40th anniversary with a special episode featuring some of the sudser’s most popular stars — and it was definitely a not-to-be missed episode for fans of the Emmy-award winning series.
On Friday, April 5, “The Young and the Restless” stars Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams), Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), Jess Walton (Jill Abbott), Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers Newman) are scheduled to appear on Hallmark Movie Channel’s new series “Planet 360″ in celebration of “Y&R’s” 40th anniversary, which will air on Tuesday, March 26 on CBS.
