( — Will fans of same sex pairings finally get a true gay storyline on “Days of our Lives?” That’s where it looks to be headed as Entertainment Weekly‘s always spot on Lynette Rice revealed in a piece posted on Inside TV that she’s hearing the soap “may involve a current cast member [in a gay storyline] hooking up with someone new.”

While a “Days of our Lives” representative declined to comment on the EW article, and it remains unclear whether the supposed duo are male or female, fans have for sometime noticed the exuberant chemistry between Will Brady (Chandler Massey) and Chad Peterson Woods (these days known as Chad DiMera; played by Casey Deidrick). The two have the star crossed lovers plot twist, that soaps currently lack, down pact – Will is a Brady and Chad is a DiMera, a definite no-no in the town of Salem. You see, Chad’s father, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), stalked Marlena Evans (once the wife of Roman Brady), Will’s grandmother, who was in love with John Black (who once thought he was Roman Brady). Chad’s brother, EJ DiMera (James Scott), once upon a time raped and married (later annulled) Samantha “Sami” Brady (played by Alison Sweeney), Will’s mother. Madeline Peterson Woods (Jessica Tuck), Chad’s mother, and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), Will’s other grandmother, once made it their mission to keep the two friends apart as they got closer and closer to the truth of Chad’s true parentage. Even though Will is currently dating Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) and Chad is involved in the antics of Abby Deveraux (Kate Mansi), it would be a shame for the soap to ignore the interesting history the two share and the storyline potential the two together could create.

With that said, as previously reported, “Days of our Lives” is currently casting the contract role of Ryan who is described as a “17 to 18-year-old Caucasian or African American male” – [Ryan] “is the all-American high school idol. Gorgeous, well-built quarterback of the football team. Popular, confident and charismatic…the world is at his feet for the taking.” Based on Entertainment Weekly‘s report it looks like Ryan could be the “someone new” in the life of a current cast member, but we still don’t know if the roles in question are male or female. The character of Ryan is scheduled to debut in May on “DAYS.”

( — "The Young and the Restless" Episode Recap – Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Billy gets word from Phyllis that she's found out that Adam is definitely in Thailand. He stresses that she find out whatever she can on what he's doing there. Meanwhile, Sharon, who is still in jail, gets a visit from her lawyer, Vance. He lays into her for getting a phony passport to skip town. He lets her know that she's in serious trouble. Sharon grows upset when she realizes what she's done and begins to cry. Billy arrives and offers to write up a story to help her gain sympathy from the community.

Victor is furious that Michael still can't come up with a loophole to get out of giving Nick, Abby and Victoria their settlement. When Michael mentions using Beauty of Nature as a way to paying them, Victor tells him that he's not about to part with his company to make them happy. Later on, he runs into Nick and Victoria at Crimson Lights taking jabs at Diane.

Nikki returns back to her hotel suite and replenishes the mini bar with the alcohol she drank. When the housekeeper arrives she decides to head out, but is stopped by Deacon who wants to talk to her. Nikki tells him she doesn't want to have anything to do with him and demands that he leaves. He notices something amiss in Nikki and soon realizes that she's drinking again. After he leaves, he runs into Nick and Victoria and tell him that their mother has been drinking again and needs help.

Adam is surprised to see Phyllis in Thailand and wants to know why she's following him. She corrects him by letting him know that it was Sharon that she was following. Thinking she's there, Adam starts to ask where she is. Phyllis has great pleasure in telling him that Sharon was hauled back off to jail. Adam reluctantly fills her in on Koa and the proof that he had. When Phyllis gets a text from Billy, she tells Adam that they better find Koa soon because Sharon's trial starts the following week.

Victor tells Diane that he witnessed the way she and Nick were looking at one another back at Crimson Lights; he wants her to stop it and stay away from his son. A nervous Diane feigns ignorance and hedges for answers. He tells her to do as she's been told.

Victoria keeps pressuring Nick to help her go after Beauty of Nature. Nick at first tells her that he wants nothing to do with it, especially with having to work with the likes of Tucker McCall. Victoria points out that it would be a good business venture to team up with Jabot and make a nice profit down the road. After more thinking and a little more pressure, Nick caves and tells Victoria he's in.

Back at the Newman Ranch, Michael, who has been summoned by Victor, is stunned to hear that Victor is going to take him up on his suggestion for a settlement option.

Anthony Geary on Taylor's Passing: 'She Was a Fierce and Loyal Friend and Tireless Advocate'

( — As previously reported, the world is in mourning after news of the passing of legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor broke early this morning. Now Anthony Geary, who portrays Luke Spencer on ABC's "General Hospital" and had the honor of working with Taylor when she appeared on the soap as his character was marrying Laura Webber (Genie Francis) in the most watched television event in daytime history, shares some of his fondest memories of Taylor in a statement released by the show.

"Elizabeth was more than a great star, she was an amazing human being. Her world famous physical beauty paled in comparison to the beauty that radiated from her heart and soul. She had great humor, didn’t take herself too seriously, and had the most wonderful bawdy laugh," said Geary. "She was a fierce and loyal friend and tireless advocate. She dedicated herself to education, treatment and the search for a cure for HIV/AIDS long before it was fashionable to do so. Back in the dark days of ignorance and prejudice against people stricken with the disease, Elizabeth was at the forefront of the battle. Ever ready to give love, comfort, and dignity to those whose lives had been devastated and cut short, her generosity was nothing short of spectacular. It made her furious to hear anyone claim that people who had HIV/AIDS were somehow morally inferior or that the disease was some kind of punishment. I was fortunate enough to call her my friend and every moment I spent in her company was unforgettable. I loved her very much. The world is a little darker, a little colder, a little less beautiful without her."
