      Wilson Bethel Returns to 'Y&R'

( — Earlier this month rumors began circulating that CBS' "The Young and the Restless" would be bringing Wilson Bethel back as Ryder Callahan, now Soap Opera Network can confirm that the actor is indeed returning beginning next month.

Bethel, last seen in July 2010, is back beginning with the Thursday, March 3 episode of the drama series as Ryder shocks Jana (Emily O'Brien) when he reveals himself during one frightfully cold night in Genoa City.

Since leaving "Y&R" last summer, Bethel has tested out for the title role in "Captain America" (which eventually went to "Fantastic Four's" Chris Evans) and has recently landed the lead role opposite Rachel Bilson in the CW pilot "Hart of Dixie." The show is described as a comedic drama about a girl named Zoe (Bilson), who inherits a medical facility in a small Southern town full of eccentric characters. According to, Bethel's character will be that of a "gorgeous flirty, bad-boy southern fisherman," who lives next door to Zoe, plays in a band and dedicates a song to her.

It is unclear at this time whether the actor will be returning to the soap on a full-time basis or if his characters stay is short term, but either which way a show representative tells Soap Opera Network, "we don't comment on contracts."

Ray MacDonnell and Lee Meriwether Return to 'AMC'

(SoapOperaNetwork) — Tad Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) next marriage is set to be Pine Valley’s biggest of the year; but will the Cad’s parents impede his big plans?

Ray MacDonnell and Lee Meriwether are returning to “All My Children” for a guest appearance this March.

MacDonnell and Meriwether, of course, portray the husband and wife duo of Dr. Joe Martin and Ruth Martin on “AMC”. MacDonnell, who will be 83-years old this March, is one of “AMC’s” original cast members. He debuted on the ABC soap on January 5, 1970. The actor who received a Lifetime Achievement Daytime Emmy award in 2004 last appeared on “AMC” in January 2010. MacDonnell officially retired from the contract role in the wake of “AMC” moving production from New York to California in late 2009. Meriwether, also known as Miss America 1955 and Catwoman in the 1966 adaptation of “Batman”, debuted in the role of the Martin matriarch Ruth in 1996 (taking over for the fabulous Mary Fickett). 75-year old Meriwether’s last appearance on “AMC” was in June of 2010.

The Martin’s return to Pine Valley on Tuesday, March 8 and will stick around through Wednesday, March 9. In true soap fashion, the pair will have to deal with the complicated situation of their much-married son Tad fixing to make their other son’s (Ricky Paull Goldin) ex-wife, Dr. Cara Castillo (Lindsay Hartley), his next bride. Between suspicious immigration agents, none-too-thrilled potential in-laws, and confused ex’s – can this fraudulent pair beat the odds and make it official? Stay tuned to “AMC” during the week of March 7!

'One Life to Live' Helps to STOMP on Bullying

(SoapOperaNetwork) — ABC’s “One Life to Live” has partnered up with “STOMP Out Bullying” as it prepares to kick off a major storyline involving Shane Morasco (Austin Williams) and recently recast Jack Manning (now played by Andrew Trischitta), who has turned into a high school bully.

In preparation, “One Life to Live” consulted “STOMP” and “Love Our Children USA” founder and CEO Ross Ellis, who discusses the alarming increase in bullying incidents in recent years in the March 1 edition of Soap Opera Weekly.

On Tuesday, February 22, viewers will get their first glimpse of Trischitta, when it is revealed on screen that Jack is Shane’s high school bully.  However, that’s only the beginning of the story. According to “OLTL” Head Writer Ron Carlivati, Shane’s situation is only going to get worse before it get better, hinting to TVGuide‘s Michael Logan that the teen could be pushed to the brink of suicide.  Meanwhile, Shane and Jack’s parents will remain in the dark as to the severity of the situation, with the Morasco’s failing to see the warning signs, and the Manning’s living in denial that their son could be involved in harassing his classmate.

To coincide with the reveal, PSA’s for “STOMP Out Bullying” will begin airing during “One Life to Live’s” commercial breaks beginning February 22.
