Friday, August 7, 2009 3:00 PM ET | By Errol LewisPhoto: Yolanda Perez/ABC ( -- Just when you thought it was safe for Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam fans, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that ABC's "General Hospital" has put out a casting call for Sam McCall, a role currently portrayed by popular actress Kelly Monaco. An ABC spokesman issued a "no comment" to both Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Network when pressed for answers. This can only mean bad news for Monaco fans. The casting call is as follows: Early 30s, female, Caucasian, brunette, sexy, dynamic and fiery...SERIES REGULAR. This is a character who has been established on the show. Prior to joining the cast of "General Hospital" in October 2003, Monaco had a contract role on ABC's "Port Charles" from 1999-2003. "General Hospital" airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Alexa Havins' Babe went to California after the actress opted not to renew her contract in 2007 shortly after real-life husband Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie Martin) left the soap with hopes of making it big in Hollywood. He starred in the NBC series "Knight Rider," which lasted for one season during the 2007-2008 TV season. The series was canceled due to low ratings. With "All My Children" heading to the West Coast in January, it has been speculated that Havins and a number of former "AMC" stars, who are now L.A. based, are being courted to come back to the drama series when filming begins in Los Angeles. "I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm not the kind of dad who wants to be 3,000 miles away from my kids. And it's not exactly the best time to sell real estate," he says. Kaye is married to "One Life to Live's" Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrooke). They have two daughters, McKenna and Marlowe. On today's "Regis & Kelly," Susan Lucci shocked former "All My Children" co-star Kelly Ripa by announcing that she's not sure if she'll make the decision to move to Los Angeles with the production of the soap she helped make. Lucci, who has been with "AMC" since it's first air-date in January 1970, told Ripa, "I don't know what I'm going to do" in reference to leaving New York to remain with the show. Still in a state of shock from the news that dropped this past Tuesday, Lucci emphasized that while she appreciates being given a choice unlike some other co-workers and crew that uprooting 3,000 miles is a big decision to make for her and for the entire cast. "History" tells the story of Henry Griffin (Schmidt), a teenager who has acquired exceptional skills during his travels around the world with his anthropologist parents. He faces his greatest challenge when he returns to the United States to attend High School. Rounding out the cast will be Jordan Gavaris ("Degrassi: The Next Generation") and Italia Ricci ("Greek"). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gavaris will play Jasper, Henry's cousin, and Ricci will play Maggie, a classmate of Henry's. Production will begin later this month in Toronto. The script was penned by Mike Werb ("The Mask"). Warner Horizon TV will produce the project. At this time it is unclear if Schmidt will depart "Y&R" if the show...
