Forty years later, African-Americans in Llanview appear to be nonexistent.The year 1968 was a rather turbulent time in American history. The production is based on the original 1965 screenplay by James Lee Barrett, which debuted in 1974 at the Goodspeed Opera House. It seems I just keep getting later and later with these columns, doesn't it? I just get so wrapped up with everything going on around me, that I forget things, like this column. And I find it so difficult just to set down and write very much when there is so much to do outside this time of year. Also, I wanted to wait until after the two special 40th anniversary episodes of "OLTL" aired earlier this week before I wrote my column. But my apologizes for this being so late.
