Ratings Report for the Week of December 29, 2014 – January 2, 2015

On Saturday, March 14, Hallmark Channel will premiere “Portrait of Love” starring Bree Williamson (“One Life to Live”), Jason Dohring (“Veronica Mars,” “Moonlight”), Corbin Bernsen (“Psych,” “The Young and the Restless”) and Ella Thomas (“Bones,” “All My Children”).

While official cause of death has yet to be determined, Sharon Alkus, the wife of Beau Kazer, who portrayed Brock Reynolds on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” off and on since originating the role in 1974, told The Hollywood Reporter that her husband is believed to have died in his sleep on December 30, 2014, and that he had been battling health issues for two years.

One month after announcing that 93% of its board approved the National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (Network Television Code), SAG-AFTRA announced today that its members have overwhelmingly ratified the new contract with 96.5% of the members voting in favor.

On Wednesday, January 7, CBS aired the 2015 “People’s Choice Awards,” which saw The CW’s “Jane the Virgin” and “The Flash,” along with talent from the network’s “The Vampire Diaries,” “Supernatural,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” sweep much of the television categories.

Fans of online series “Youthful Daze” will soon get a dose of “The Young and the Restless'” Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), when she debuts in upcoming episodes as Nicole Wallace, the mother of resident bad boy Randy Milhouse (Reese Mishler). Scott’s character is described as being “calculated and waspy.”

On Saturday, January 17 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM, “The Young and the Restless'” Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) will be appearing at the Charleston Town Center in Charleston, West Virginia for a meet and greet.

Beau Kazer, who originated the role of Brock Reynolds on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” in 1974, has died. The actor passed on December 30 in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 63 years old.
