The 41st Annual Daytime Emmys Introduce Online Entry and Voting System; Submissions Now Being Accepted

In 2013, “Days of our Lives'” Chandler Massey (ex-Will Horton), “General Hospital’s” Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) and Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) and “The Young and the Restless'” Max Ehrich (Fenmore Baldwin) and Daniel Polo (ex-Jamie Vernon) proved they were the outstanding younger gentlemen for their respective daytime dramas. They now compete with each other to find out which of them was the most Outstanding Younger Actor in a Daytime Drama Series during “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.”

As previously reported on Friday, June 6, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences issued a casting call for hosts of its red carpet/social media presentation set to air preceding “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” on Sunday, June 22. The program will be executive produced by Paul Colichman and Stephen Jarchow of Here Media. Today, NATAS announced that they have hired social media experts Brittany Furlan, Lauren Elizabeth, Jessica Harlow and Meghan Rosette.

Even though “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Heather Tom (Katie Logan) has previously been nominated for 15 Daytime Emmy awards and is the only person in history to have won in all three actor categories (three times in the Outstanding Younger Actress category, once in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category and twice in the Outstanding Lead Actress category), her recent Lead Actress nomination still feels special.

As has become tradition, CBS’ “The Talk” will celebrate “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” on Monday, June 23, the day after the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awards daytime’s Outstanding Actors, Personalities and Shows.

As is the case for almost all of the awards shows these days, “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will include an online only voting component where fans are given the ability to vote on the first ever Fan Favorite Award.

She hosted her own talk show on Bravo last year and she’s co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve countdown presentation alongside Anderson Cooper over the last couple of years, but it’s her signing on as host of “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” that promises to be one of the most memorable acts by comedian, actress, writer and producer, Kathy Griffin. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced today that Griffin will host daytime’s biggest night for the first time on Sunday, June 22.

Although CBS is not broadcasting the awards itself this year, the network announced today that it’ll celebrate “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” with six days of Twitter chats with several of its stars, producers and executives from CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Talk,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right.” The chats will take place every weekday beginning Friday, June 13 and running through Friday, June 20, leading up to daytime’s biggest night on Sunday, June 22. While he isn’t nominated for an Emmy this year, “B&B’s” Sean Kanan kicks things off beginning tomorrow, June 13, which also happens to coincide with his return to the world’s most watched daytime soap opera when his character Deacon Sharpe reunites with his daughter, Hope Logan (Kim Matula). After announcing plans to stream “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” for the first time online on Sunday, June 22, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has updated daytimeemmys.net for a user friendly experience.

On Thursday, June 5, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), which oversees the Daytime Emmy® Awards, announced that on Sunday, June 22, its presentation of “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will mark the first time the organization will have presented the awards show exclusively online as a live stream. This follows NATAS being unable to secure a television deal for daytime’s biggest night.

As previously reported, “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will be streamed live online for the first time beginning at 8:00 PM EST/5:00 PM PST on Sunday, June 22, when fans of programming airing between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 PM can tune into www.daytimeemmys.net for the telecast, which will be streamed from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This is the first time in its history that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) will be utilizing the online platform to broadcast the awards show, and it does so in the hopes that audiences around the world will be able to engage in an event which celebrates programs that are known internationally and boast a global fan base.
