The anticipation leading up to the announcement of the 65th Primetime Emmy awards has been building for weeks, and “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul and “How I Met Your Mother’s” Neil Patrick Harris finally made the official list public this morning. The recent death of “Glee’s” Cory Monteith, who died of a heroin overdose in a Vancouver hotel on Saturday, July 13, hit the show’s fans just as hard as the death of “The Young and the Restless’” Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) hit soap fans earlier this year — if not more so, considering the Fox star was only 31. The powers that be at “Y&R” scrambled to come up with an appropriate way to handle Cooper’s death onscreen, leading to a beautiful tribute episode in which castmembers — as themselves rather than their characters — shared their favorite memories of the legendary lady. And The Boston Herald thinks that “Glee” should follow suit.

Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn Hudson on FOX’s “Glee”, has died. The actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia on Saturday afternoon. It’s understood that when Monteith missed his checkout at noon, hotel staff went to his room and found his body. “An autopsy is scheduled for Monday,” said Vancouver Acting Police Chief Doug LePard in a press conference. “The Coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play.”

There was a time not that long ago when “All My Children’s” Chrishell Stause (ex-Amanda Dillon) — who’s been confirmed as a future cast member on “Days of our Lives” — seemed on top of the world. She and her boyfriend, “Glee” star Matthew Morrison, were as happy as could be and even announced their engagement in 2007. But shortly after the joyous news came out, the pair split. Fans have wondered how a relationship that was seemingly so wonderful could take such a drastic turn for the worse, and now Morrison himself is setting the record straight!

It’s raining soap stars over at HBO now that the premium cable network has picked up Michael Lannan’s untitled comedy pilot starring Jonathan Groff (ex-Henry, “One Life to Live;” Jesse St. James, “Glee”), Murray Bartlett (ex-Cyrus Foley, “Guiding Light;” James Brogan, “Headland”), as well as Frankie Alvarez (“Kitchen Confidential”).

Child actress Lauren Boles has won of the hearts of soap fans as Bo and Hope’s “Days of our Lives” daughter, Ciara, and apparently, she also won over ‘Glee’ fans as the young version of Rachel Barry (Lea Michelle), because the show has asked her back for a second time!

In its newest issue, TV Guide Magazine has revealed some of televisions highest paid stars. As you can imagine, the list comprises of former daytime soap stars who’ve either gone on to host their own talk show or headline a top ranked primetime series, or in the case of primetime soap stars – gotten richer!
