In a statement released just a short time ago, Lee Phillip Bell, co-creator of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” said, “JEANNE COOPER: respected colleague, industry icon, woman of passion and grandeur; most important, beloved friend. She was a shining beacon. Her love was unexpendable, and was given freely to all, from fans to great celebrities. She was not jaded by success, nor impressed by wealth and fame. Her crowning glory was her family: her children Corbin, Collin and Caren and her grandchildren, whom she adored, and all of whom adored her in return. Her presence resonated in the lives of all those around her. Through her personal and professional journey, she saved hundreds, possibly thousands, from the depths of alcoholism. She embodied compassion and forgiveness. No daytime icon has ever been more influential in the lives of millions. She will be terribly missed, but her light will shine on forever. May angels guide you on your journey, dear Jeanne. I will love you forever.”

Passions

“Passions’” alum Justin Hartley has done a lot of work since he left his role as Fox Crane in 2006, including a leading role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in “Smallville,” as well as a role as Will Collins in “Emily Owens M.D.” And now comes word of the actor’s next chapter: He’ll be playing the boyfriend of Melissa Joan Hart’s character in ABC Family’s “Melissa & Joey!”

Though the official announcement of FOX’s fall schedule won’t be happening until Monday, the network has released a sneak peek of the new programming it has picked up and plans to air near the end of the year. And it looks like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” a comedy starring “One Life to Live’s” Melissa Fumero (ex-Adriana Cramer) made the cut! Read on for details on that as well as the three other comedies and five dramas Fox has given teasers for!

The Young and the Restless

On Tuesday, May 28, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” will air a special tribute episode honoring the life of the late Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor). Cast members, friends and family of the beloved actress will gather on set next week to shoot a celebration of the life of Cooper, who passed away this week at the age of 84. Cooper, who portrayed Katherine Chancellor for more than 39 years, was the show’s longest-running cast member.

As previously reported, The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have partnered up to amass a collection of costumes, scripts, photographs, props, awards and other materials recognizable to daytime fans for a special Daytime Television exhibit. The museum held a special ceremony today, May 9, to not only celebrate the partnership, but to also officially launch a three-year artifact collecting initiative and to announce the first items to be lent for the exhibit!

It’s not easy being “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Liam Spencer, a man whose heart has flipped back and forth between Kim Matula’s Hope Logan and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s Steffy Forrester for the better part of two and a half years. And that’s what makes receiving an Emmy nomination all the sweeter for portrayer Scott Clifton, who for the first time has been nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category as opposed to the Outstanding Younger Actor category he’s been in five times (and won once, in 2011).

In a growing list of popular artists appearing on or performing in episodes of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” including Hot Chelle Rae on today’s “AMC,” The OnLine Network has announced that multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo will perform on the soaps Wednesday, July 3 episode. The episode finds the artist appearing as himself singing his new single “The Other Side” after receiving an invite to perform as part of a gala event hosted by Brooke English (Julia Barr).
