Ratings Report for the Week of July 7-11, 2014

CBS’ daytime show “The Talk” continues to gain speed, and for the first time in its nearly four years on the air, it beat ABC’s “The View” in key demos!

Daytime fans who might be feeling a little nostalgic for the “good old days of soaps” now have something to smile about: Reruns of NBC’s former soap opera, “The Doctors,” will soon be airing on Retro TV!

Former “One Life to Live” star Amanda Setton (Kimberly Andrews) has been on a slew of shows since departing daytime, including “Gossip Girl,” “The Mindy Project,” and “The Crazy Ones,” and she will now have one more to add to the resume: CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0.”

Ever since it was revealed that Emmy-winning actress Eileen Davidson will be returning to “The Young and the Restless” as Ashley Abbott this September, fans have been chomping at the bit for more details regarding her return — including how the deal, which allows her to also appear on the Sony-owned NBC sudser “Days of our Lives” — came about. Soap Opera Network went straight to the Senior Vice President of CBS Daytime, Angelica McDaniel, to find out!

If you think you’re one of the biggest fans of the CBS Daytime lineup — including “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Talk,” “Let’s Make a Deal,” and “The Price Is Right,” then you just might have a chance to win something pretty spectacular: The gift bag the network gave out at its Emmy party!

So it’s no surprise that he also has the tile of author, having just released a new book titled “Places: The Journey of my Days, My Lives.”

You may know her from “All My Children,” where she played Julia Santos, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” where she played Samantha Kelly, or “Days of our Lives,” where she played Dr. Liv Norman, but Sydney Penny will soon be known to the (young adult) masses as Leona Vanderwaal on “Pretty Little Liars!”

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and if “The Young and the Restless’” latest character turns out to be who we think it is, then Genoa City is in trouble!

“Days of our Lives’” Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) just took home this year’s Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actor, but that’s not all the good news the actor has to celebrate: He’s also found recent success in the world of primetime!
