Casey Deidrick co-stars with Victoria Justice in MTV’s scripted drama series “Eye Candy” which is based on the R.L. Stine novel of the same name.

The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) earlier today announced the nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Television, New Media, News, Radio, and Promotional Writing during calendar year 2014. In the category of Daytime Drama, ABC’s “General Hospital” and NBC’s “Days of our Lives” received a nomination.

If you find yourself tuning into CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” later this month and think you’re seeing things when Faith Newman appears on your screen as someone you may have seen not too long ago, don’t be too surprised. Actress McKenna Grace is once again stepping into the role of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nicholas Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) little girl following news of current portrayer, Aly Lind, booking a role in a pilot for TNT. Grace actually took over the role of Faith from Lind when she appeared from July 2013 to June 2014, when Lind returned.

Actress Jacqueline MacIness Wood is returning to “The Bold and the Beautiful” next week to once again film scenes as Steffy Forrester on the CBS Daytime drama series. Wood, who remains on recurring status with the soap and last appeared in February of this year, will begin airing in late January 2015.

As if being the most watched daytime drama series for more than 25 years wasn’t enough, CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless” has placed fifth on Bing’s Top TV Show Searches for 2014, just behind TV’s hottest primetime series, AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” “Y&R” beat out the likes of E!’s now defunct “Chelsea Lately” (#6), NBC’s “The Today Show” (#7), HBO’s “Game of Thrones” (#8), ABC’s “The View” (#9) and FOX’s “American Idol” (#10).

Spencer Neville has joined the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in the recurring role of Derrick. The actor/model/bodybuilder, who is reportedly set to appear in more than a dozen episodes beginning sometime next week, posted on his Facebook page in early September, “Big news coming soon on a TV show I’ve been working on…they are very secretive..” It’s not yet clear whether the actor was referring to his “DAYS” role or another project he may have been working on at the time. The “DAYS” episodes that feature Neville were filmed in late July/early August.

Guy Wilson is returning to “Days of our Lives” as Will Horton after taking a storyline dictated hiatus, plus look for Paul (Christopher Sean) to mix things up.

CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is looking to cast a new contract male character, one of the first new characters under new head writer Charles Pratt, Jr., reports Soap Opera Digest.

Actress Reign Edwards, who’s appeared in episodes of Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans” and “Brain Surge,” is set to make her daytime debut in January when she joins the cast of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” in the contract role of Nicole Avant, Maya’s (Karla Mosley) younger sister.

It seems like forever ago since we reported Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”) got a wonderful surprise while visiting NBCUniversal’s syndicated daytime talker, “The Meredith Vieira Show,” via a reunion of sorts with former “AMC” co-star, Walt Willey (ex-Jackson Montgomery). In your first look at the episode, airing Tuesday, December 2, Lucci tells host Meredith Vieira how her character on the ABC Daytime soap opera helped many immigrants learn to speak English. Later the two take part in a Soap Opera Showdown, which included Willey as a surprise participant alongside Lucci.
