Former “As the World Turns” star Martha Byrne (ex-Lily Snyder; ex-Andrea Floyd, “General Hospital”) is making her debut on NBC’s drama series, “Crisis,” next month, and it looks like she’ll be doing it with a literal bang! A teaser trailer featuring the actress wearing a suicide vest has already racked up over a million YouTube views, with the number growing every day. Soap Opera Network caught up with Byrne to get the scoop on her emotional “Crisis” arc, how it might be a game changer for her career, what she thinks of soap fans and more!

Yesterday, Soap Opera Network featured a Center Stage interview with “The Young and the Restless’” Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman) detailing his new film, “Tentacle 8,” which is out on DVD in select stores and on Amazon now. Not only has his father been tricking the love of his life into thinking she’s been seeing and speaking with her dead daughter, he’s on the verge of finding out that the very same woman he loves has been lying to him about the true paternity of his daughter! The drama is all pretty typical for Nick’s portrayer, Joshua Morrow — who’s been dealing with twisted Genoa City plots for nearly 20 years — but the drama he faces in his latest stint in the political drama thriller ‘Tentacle 8?’ Not so much! Soap Opera Network spoke with the actor about momentarily stepping away from his ‘Y&R’ craziness to film the exciting project, which is available on DVD in stores and on Amazon today. And we also got him to spill on all of the Victor (Eric Braeden), Sharon (Sharon Case) and Adam (formerly Michael Muhney) drama, too!

Viewers may have been stunned with the reveal that “General Hospital’s” new Chief of Staff was going to be none other than villainess Dr. Liesl Obrecht, but the devilish doc’s portrayer, Kathleen Gati, was equally surprised upon hearing the unexpected news!

Cast, crew, executives, and reporters gathered on the set of “The Young and the Restless” last week to celebrate Melody Thomas Scott’s 35th anniversary playing the legendary Nikki Reed. Her closest co-stars gave heartfelt words of congratulations to the actress, followed by an incredibly emotional speech from Scott herself. “General Hospital’s” Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer) is no stranger to heartbreaking baby loss storylines. As “Guiding Light’s” Lizzie Spaulding, she had to play out the emotional arc in which Lizzie believed her daughter, Sarah, had died in a car accident. And while Rylan is proud of the work she was able to bring as her Springfield alter ego, she’s of the opinion that now having two children of her own (Jackson, 4, and Levi, 2) is making her current baby-loss storyline much stronger.

Long gone but never forgotten characters are popping up left and right on ABC’s “General Hospital,” leaving many fans wondering which fan favorite could be next. The recent reveal that Julian’s (William DeVry) henchmen, Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), is from Puerto Rico had many under the impression that he was related to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) late wife, Lily Rivera (Lilly Melgar), which then lead fans to wonder if Melgar could be headed back to Port Charles!

With “General Hospital’s” 13,000th episode just around the corner — on Monday, February 24, to be exact — Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) sat down with reporters to dish on everything from Nikolas’ limits when it comes to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), the return of Ric (Rick Hearst) and their hesitation to delve into Nikolas and Liz’s romantic past!
