Background: Errol is one of the premier voices covering all five daily daytime dramas, including "Beyond the Gates," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of our Lives," "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless." He began watching soaps in 1993, around the time Luke and Laura Spencer returned to “General Hospital,” but they weren’t what got him watching regularly. “It was Lucy Coe and her duck Sigmond,” he says of how he got started with soaps.
He received his BA from Baruch College, double-majoring in English Literature and Journalism, and double-minoring in Communications and Psychology. He also holds an AA in Business Administration.
The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards weekend kicked off on Friday, June 14 with the annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards. CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” are currently leading the way with five wins each, followed by “Days of our Lives” with two and “General Hospital” and “One Life to Live” tied with one each, ironically in the same category.

The Wednesday, June 12 episode of “All My Children” featured a hot and somewhat controversial sex scene between Pete Cortlandt (Robert Scott Wilson) and Colby Chandler (Brooke Newton) that was so steamy that it violated YouTube’s Terms of Service. TOLNSoaps, the official YouTube page for The OnLine Network, uploaded the scene to their page only to find the message “This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube’s Terms of Service.” Viewers were advised to click on the YouTube TOS page to learn more.
Crystal Chappell (Gina Brogno, “Venice;” ex-Carly Manning, “Days of our Lives;” ex-Olivia Spencer, “Guiding Light”) stars as Jane in Steve Silverman’s Alfred Hitchcock-inspired series, “The Inn,” which premiered with its new season on Monday, June 3. On Monday, June 17, CBS’ “The Talk” will celebrate “The 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards,” with a special after-party that will include appearances by several of the nights biggest winners. This marks the second consecutive year in which “The Talk” pays tribute to Daytime Emmy Award winners from across all dayparts invited to appear live on the show following their industries biggest night.
On Thursday, June 6, Prospect Park put “One Life to Live” on an earlier than planned production hiatus as a result of a labor dispute between the company and the I.A.T.S.E. (International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees)/Local 52, the union representing stage workers for both “OLTL” and “All My Children,” which alleges that Prospect Park has violated its labor agreement with the union. Previously, Prospect Park planned to begin the hiatus on Monday, June 17.

Earlier today CBS released a promo touting its daytime lineup for “Bringing Sexy Back,” and not to be outdone, ABC has released its own daytime lineup promo. With the phrases, “Why just live when you can love. Why just smile when you can laugh. Why just watch when you can feel,” viewers of “The View,” “The Chew” and “General Hospital” are all embraced by the ABC Television Network.
