Nikki, still in Mexico, comes face-to-face with a very much alive Victor. When she sees that he is in fact alive, the two soon find themselves in a heated confrontation. Nikki tells Victor that he needs to come back home to Genoa City to be with his family but he tells her he is not going anywhere.. Back in Genoa City, Nick, Victoria and Adam each get a letter from Victor. Nick becomes touched when he reads that his father truly does accept that he has become his own man and he respects him for it. When Victoria reads her letter, she finds that Victor always valued her as the one true person he never wanted to hurt or disappoint. Adam sits down alone to read the letter he has received and is floored by the fact that Victor has instructed him not to turn his back on his newfound siblings. Angry, Adam bitterly tells Heather that he doesn’t have to honor anything and that Victoria and Nick got exactly what they deserved. Nikki later calls to report to her son and daughter that Victor is alive but refuses to come home. Back at Newman Enterprises, Adam makes it known that he has big plans for the company. With a change of heart and mind, Victor makes his way back home, where he learns of all of the changes Adam has made to his company and his treatment of Neil, Victoria and Nick. Unaware of what’s in store for him, Adam finds himself in a serious confrontation with Victor.
