CBS’ acclaimed daytime show, “The Talk,” joined the long list of outlets celebrating “The Young and the Restless’” 40th anniversary with a special episode featuring some of the sudser’s most popular stars — and it was definitely a not-to-be missed event for fans of the long-running show.
On Tuesday, March 26, CBS' "The Young and the Restless" will celebrate its 40th anniversary and in honor of the event, stars from the daytime drama series will be popping up on multiple CBS Daytime programs.As previously reported, Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman Abbott), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Michael Muhney (Adam Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) will appear on the Monday, March 25 celebratory edition of "The Talk."

On Monday, March 25, CBS' "The Talk" will celebrate the networks "The Young and the Restless" with an hour-long edition where the talker hosts some of the soaps biggest stars including Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman Abbott), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Michael Muhney (Adam Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) in celebration of the shows 40th anniversary, which is scheduled to air on Tuesday, March 26.

The peer votes have been cast, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards! Five categories have been announced, including Lead Actress and Lead Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor, as well as Younger Actress and Younger Actor. Without further adieu, here are the pre-nominees:
Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman, "The Young and the Restless") is engaged! The actress tweeted a picture of herself (see photo below) with her engagement ring with the caption "Said yes."
It was recently announced that Darnell Williams would be joining the cast of "The Young and the Restless" in 2012. The two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner becomes the forth "All My Children" actor to land on the high rated CBS daytime dramas since the 41-year old ABC soap went off the air in September 2011. He joins Jacob Young who returned to "The Bold and the Beautiful" last September, and past and future co-stars Debbi Morgan and Melissa Claire Egan.

Early this afternoon, Entertainment Weekly broke the news that daytime's number one drama, "The Young and the Restless," has put another former "All My Children" star on contract to join Genoa City's ranks. This happens just several weeks after wooing the ABC Daytime drama's acclaimed and long-time casting director, Judy Blye Wilson. The CBS drama and Wilson have snatched up one of Wilson's most popular Pine Valley finds, Melissa Claire Egan. Beginning on November 11, Egan will debut in the contract role of mystery woman Chelsea.

"All My Children," aired its series finale on Friday, September 23, 2011 with its largest weekly audience in over four years (since week of August 20, 2007), its largest single day episode in more than 4 1/2 years (since the May 11, 2007 episode) and tied its highest weekly household rating in four years (since week of September 24, 2007). The canceled ABC soap managed to place second in households for the first time in 16 years (since week of July 10, 1995) and placed second in viewers for the first time in nearly seven years (since week of December 6, 2004).

Esta TerBlanche and Shannon Kane will both return to "All My Children" later this summer. Kane, a rising film star, will reprise the role of Jesse Hubbard's (Darnell Williams) daughter, Det. Natalia Fowler, beginning on Friday, August 26. 38-year old South African beauty, TerBlanche reprises the role of the love of Ryan Lavery's (Cameron Mathison) life Princess Gillian Andrassy beginning on a date yet to be announced by the ABC soap.

On Friday, ABC Daytime finally announced the return to the canvas that "All My Children" viewers were most anticipating since the news of the 41-year old daytime drama's cancellation on ABC back in April. David Canary is returning to the 41-year old daytime drama as the one and only Adam Chandler. His return will coincide with the returns of long-time veterans Julia Barr, Ray MacDonnell and Lee Meriwether. The foursome will return to the Los Angeles studio to tape their scenes next month and are slated to air in approximately a handful of episodes this September
