“Friends, women friends. Women friends, women friends, women friends! They are hard to come by, and we are in a town that doesn’t nurture that. And it’s my belief that there is a great lack of nurturing of women’s friendships. We don’t necessarily learn that from our mothers, from our sisters, from our co-workers. What we learn is to be smart, be careful, get ahead the best way you can, try to hang onto your integrity the best you can, but we don’t learn that our girlfriends will pull us through anything. It’s what we need to teach our children, that women are the strongest creatures on earth, and when they band together because something is not working or something is not fair or right, we can change the world.”
