Tuck had been scheduled to be one of familiar faces Viki Davidson (Erika Slezak) encounters on her trip to heaven following a horrible car accident. In an interview with TV Guide, Carlivati states that "Our 40th anniversary deserved more than just a clip montage--we're retelling classic stories."The homage to Llanview's history begins on July 21st with reincarnations of three of "OLTL's" most memorable storylines from the 1980s. Monday, June 9, 2008 11:40 PM | By Errol Lewis(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Jason Cook ("Days of our Lives") joins the cast of ABC's "General Hospital" as Port Charles' new resident Doctor, who has a run-in with the town's fashionista.Cook, last seen on NBC's "Days of our Lives" where he played the role of Shawn Brady from October 1999 to September 2006, is returning to daytime after nearly a two year absence in the contract role of Dr. Matt Hunter, who finds his life turning upside down once he meets Maxie Jones. Maxie is played by Cook's former on screen partner on "DAYS," Kirsten Storms. Ehlers, a four-time Emmy nominee, is best known for the role she has played off and on for more than twenty years - Harley Cooper on CBS's "Guiding Light." Ehlers was initially scheduled to be a recast of Liza Colby, formerly played by Marcy Walker, but head writing shifts scrapped that plan; the characters name is yet to be determined. Ehler's has not begun taping at the ABC soap.June 16: The July 1 issue of Soap Opera Digest reports that Ehlers will play soldier Taylor McBride on "AMC," a new character.
