ABC has renewed dramas “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Castle,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Resurrection,” “Revenge” and “Scandal,” while also picking up comedies “The Goldbergs,” “The Middle,” and “Modern Family” for the 2014-2015 television season. The network has yet to decide the fates of drama “Nashville” and comedy “Last Man Standing,” although the likelihood of both series returning remains strong.

As previously reported, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Chandra Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey) will appear on the Wednesday, January 29 episode of ABC’s “General Hospital” as Tina Estrada, a patient of Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), who goes to General Hospital for her regularly scheduled appointment. According to the network, Tina comes face to face with an unfamiliar nurse in the episode and demands to know why HE is in her doctor’s office. The “nurse” is actually reformed serial killer Franco (Roger Howarth), as noted in the picture above, who is hiding out from the police after a warrant is issued for his arrest in the disappearance and possible murder of Carly Corinthos Jacks (Laura Wright).

While stopping short of saying the network has officially picked up new seasons of either series, Paul Lee, President, ABC Entertainment, announced Friday, January 17, during the Disney/ABC Television Group’s portion of the 2014 Television Critics Association Press Tour, that “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Revenge” are on solid ground to return next season with new episodes on the network. “Grey’s” in particular is likely to continue “for many years to come,” said Lee to reporters.
