In honor of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” receiving its first ever TV Guide Magazine cover, the publication has turned back the dial with an all ’80s-themed issue, due out on newsstands later this week. As part of the celebration, several of daytime’s biggest hunks from the decade will be featured in the upcoming issue, including Kin Shriner (as Scotty Baldwin, “General Hospital”), Stephen Nichols (as Steven “Patch” Johnson, “Days of our Lives”), A Martinez (as Cruz Castillo, “Santa Barbara”), Doug Davidson (as Paul Williams, “The Young and the Restless”), Don Diamont (as Brad Carlton, “The Young and the Restless”) and Michael E. Knight (as Tad Martin, “All My Children”).

Veteran daytime director and producer Shelley Curtis has joined the directing team of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Julie Berman Upped from Recurring to Regular on Hulu series ‘Casual’

“General Hospital’s” Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is moments away from walking down the aisle to marry Julian (William deVry), but first she has a heart-to-heart with a surprise wedding guest: Sonny (Maurice Benard). It’s a touching scene between the former lovers, who have developed a mutual respect and strong friendship, over the years.

“Good Morning America” is set to reveal the new “Dancing with the Stars” cast live on Tuesday, March 8, between 7 am and 9 am, on ABC. Over the years the competition series has featured an array of daytime stars, most memorably first season champ Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall, “General Hospital”). Might a soap star past or present be in the mix this time around?

While it’s still uncertain as to who Michael Easton will be portraying when he returns to the “General Hospital” canvas in the coming weeks, the actor recently announced on his Facebook page that you’ll soon be able to catch his new short-film, “Dreamliner,” which reunites him with his former “One Life to Live” co-star Trevor St. John (ex-Todd Manning/ex-Victor Lord, JR). Easton wrote and directed the short.

Rick Springfield rocks on! The former “General Hospital” star, remembered as Dr. Noah Drake, releases new album, Rocket Science, on February 19. It’s Springfield’s 18th studio LP and was written largely with his longtime collaborator and former bass player Matt Bissonette.

“General Hospital’s” mysterious Dixon, who Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) has been heard conversing with for the last several weeks, has finally been identified as actor Troy Ruptash, who debuts in the recurring role beginning Friday, February 19, Soap Opera Network has learned.
